Days 1-3: Cairo

You will start out your adventures in Egypt in Cairo with a stay at the Marriott Mena House, which has amazing views of the Pyramids of Giza from the balcony of your room. After you settle in, your daily excursions will include a guided tour of the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, a tour of The Giza Pyramids, the Sphinx and a camel ride with your own personal photographer.

Day 4: Luxor

Today you will fly from Cairo to Luxor and check into a hotel such as the Hilton Luxor Resort and spa (note: depending on the time of year and dates, Luxor and Aswan might be switched due to the cruise schedule). While in Luxor, located on the ancient site of Thebes, you will have a guided tour of the ancient monuments and temples in the area prior to setting off on your Nile Cruise.

Days 5-8: Cruise the Nile

Set sail on the award-winning and luxurious Sanctuary Sun Boat, where all of your dining and excursions will be included as you sail from Luxor to Aswan (or Aswan to Luxor). During your trip, you will see a variety of famous sites such as the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Karnak, the Temple of Horus and Kom Ombo.

Day 9: Aswan

sail boat on a river on a sunny day

Your cruise will disembark at Aswan, where the largest Egyptian obelisk resides. Following your final tour of ancient temples, you will check in to a hotel such as the Sofitel Legend Old Cataract for a relaxing evening. For shorter vacation packages, you can fly back to Cairo immediately following your last tour in Aswan.

Day 10-12: Cairo with Alexandria

ancient Egyptian crypt

As you arrive in Cairo after your Nile Cruise, you will stay on the Nile, where you can either fly out immediately or take a day trip north to Alexandria, the second largest city in Egypt. Alexandria, founded by Alexander the Great, sits on the Mediterranean Sea and has an excellent seafront Citadel museum.
