Things to do in Milos

Discovering the natural beauty of Milos by catamaran
Walk Sarakiniko Beach at sunset
Hailed as the “lunar beach” of Greece. See why it’s been captured in so many Instagram posts by influencers and bloggers. It’s what drew me to Milos in the first place.
Spend a day on the water sailing with Naya Yachting
Explore the breathtaking turquoise coastline of Milos and the caves of Kleftiko, which are only accessible by boat. Enjoy a delicious Greek lunch on board topped off with Greek wine.
Visit a beach club
The Aqua Loca Beach Club, located within the Artemis Seaside Resort, is one of the many beach clubs on the island. Lounge seaside or on the raised beach deck while sipping a spritz or mojito.
Klima fishing village
Head down to see the famous Klima fishing village. The syrmata are colorful fishermen boathouses perched directly on the water. A photographer’s dream.
Plaka
Explore Plaka, the whitewashed hilltop capital of Milos. Shops, boutiques, and tavernas are wound between carefree alleys. It’s famed for the Kastro, a 13th-century castle with panoramic views of the island.
Soak in history
Experience the historical sites. Not only is there an ancient Roman theater to discover, but also Christian catacombs to explore.
Enjoy a unique meal experience
Dine at Sirocco on Palaiochori Beach and enjoy your dish cooked in volcanic sand. The island’s natural heat slowly cooks beneath the surface, and each dish develops depth rooted in Milos.

Need to know
Getting here: Getting to Milos is easy. You can take a quick flight from Athens or a direct ferry from there as well. It’s the perfect first stop for your island-hopping adventure.
Car rental: Renting a car is almost a necessity. You could always hire a driver for your time on the island, but it’s more economical to rent your own car. Much needed for island exploring.
What to pack: Milos has a laid-back vibe. Swimsuits, coverups, and sundresses (polo and shorts/slacks for men) for evenings. A light sweater is always a good idea any time of year. Pack lighter than you think when island-hopping.
When to visit: Shoulder season (May to June and September to October) are the best times to visit.
