Choc-ology is chocolate and Bourbon. What more do you need to know? You will get to sample five award-winning bourbons alongside expertly paired chocolates at Evan Williams’ Bourbon Experience.. While you’re savoring, you are also learning about the history of the Whiskey Row.
At Augusta Distillery’s Premium Cigar + Bourbon Experience, a fifth-generation tobacco farmer will share their family history and a cigar-rolling demo. After which you get to participate in a rolling of your own and enjoy a tasting of award-winning bourbons.
Get a fully immersive sensory experience at the Bulleit Distilling Co. They will use lights, sound, and scent bulbs to walk your senses through the classic Bulleit portfolio.
Hop on the Bourbon boat tour with Kentucky River Tours. They will teach you about bourbon and discuss six different distilleries near the river. You will see the operational Lock and Dam #4, Daniel Boone’s grave, “Frank Ford,” the Leestown Settlement, and more.
Honorable Mentions off the Bourbon Trail, you can visit museums steeped in history like the Kentucky Railway Museum, Civil War Museum, and the Louisville Slugger Museum. You can also find serenity on the greens of My Old Kentucky Home Golf or adrenalin at Louisville’s Mega Cavern.
Places to eat & drink in Kentucky

Ramsi’s Cafe on the World has an eclectic dining room that is full of art and artifacts from around the globe. Their menu mirrors the diverse international flavors. Their diverse flavors lead to great vegan and vegetarian options.
Bourbons Bistro is locally owned and internationally known. Their award-winning bar has over 130 bourbon options. Their menu shows vegetarian options are available, but strict vegans may find eating here difficult.
The Fat Lamb is a 2024 James Beard semifinalist. They work to create a atmosphere filled with positive energy, coupled with exquisite flavors that will leave a lasting impression. They have many vegetarian options and are vegan-accommodating.
CASK Southern Kitchen & Bar takes inspiration from Kentucky’s bourbon history. They feature some of the state’s greatest bourbons and local beers to compliment their southern recipes! If you are vegetarian but not much of a salad eater, be sure you visit them for brunch for better options.
The Mayan Café fuses traditional Mayan flavors, ingredients & cooking techniques with local, sustainably-farmed ingredients. Their flavor lends itself to several vegan & vegetarian menu options.

Book distillery tours well in advance. Many sell out quickly.
Plan for 2–3 tastings max per day. Pace yourself to enjoy the experience.
