Vancouver City

  • Vancouver Seawall: The world's longest uninterrupted waterfront path makes for an amazing walk or bike ride to get all the views of the city and coast.

  • Grouse Mountain: Mountain in north of the city with jaw-dropping views and cable cars to take you up to the top!

  • Stanley Park: A world-renowned 405-hectare public park that makes up the Northwestern half of Vancouver's downtown peninsula, featuring local wildlife and historical landmarks.

  • English Bay Beach: Popular beach on the West side of the city, great for relaxing in the water or curling up with a book in the sand.

  • Vancouver Aquarium: Engage in marine research, ocean literacy education, climate activism, conservation and marine animal rehabilitation at Canada's largest aquarium.

  • Seaplanes: There are many options for seaplane tours to get a view of the city and lush landscape from high in the sky, right from the harbor.

  • Ferries: There are various sized ferries to take across the water to Vancouver Island and beyond. This makes for a nice hour-and-a-half voyage on the sea or between islands with incredible views.

Vancouver Island

  • Victoria: The capital of British Columbia has abundant parkland. It is known for outdoor activities, where you’ll find the city's British colonial past showing in its Victorian architecture.

  • The Butchart Gardens: A massive group of floral display gardens on Vancouver Island with every kind of flower you can imagine.

  • Gabriola Island: A small island off the side of the main Vancouver Island with unique spots to explore and get an adventure away from the big city.

Day trips

  • Vancouver Island, Victoria: This city and the surrounding area is a great way to spend a vacation day on its own, taking in the scenery.

  • Vancouver Island: Any of the other small islands can make for a great day trip, even island hopping with the small ferries available!

  • Tim Hortons: The obvious go-to for many places in Canada, and Vancouver is no exception. The chain features a variety of breakfast and lunch food with Canadian specials, along with its signature coffee for that early morning kick.

  • Food trucks: This one isn't specific, but there are lots of different food trucks and trailers sitting around the city with diverse tastes and treats!

  • JOEY Burrard: Jaunty restaurant known for frozen cocktails, offering a lively menu from sushi to steak along with private dining and patio seating.

  • Blue Water Cafe: High-end dining spot in a heritage warehouse space with sustainable seafood with innovative touches.

  • Uno Gelato: Great gelato shop right by the water, perfect for grabbing a cone and taking a walk down the seawall.

  • Cactus Club Cafe Coal Harbour: Downtown Vancouver restaurant serving global cuisine using local, fresh ingredients with a close view of the harbor.

  • HellCrust Pizza: Small pizza shop that's open super late, so you can grab a slice coming back home late from a city expedition.
