If you’re lucky enough to visit on April 26, 2025, you’ll be part of King’s Day, one of the most exciting celebrations in the Netherlands. Start your morning with breakfast (you will need the energy), then head to one of the canals for a shared King’s Day cruise. Hop on a boat party, a unique way to experience the festivities. Join locals and visitors alike in celebrating with music, drinks and the lively atmosphere of this national holiday. During this time, it is also tulip season in Amsterdam is a vibrant and colorful time, showcasing the Netherlands' iconic flower in full bloom. Running from mid-March to early May, with the peak in April, the season transforms fields and gardens into a stunning sea of colors. A visit to Keukenhof Gardens is a must, where you can stroll through 79 acres of brilliantly arranged tulip displays. You’ll be surrounded by a breathtaking display of tulips in full bloom. Rent a bike to explore the nearby countryside before returning to Amsterdam.
