Things to do in Seattle with kids

Stroll through Pike Place Market (aka "The Market"). The heart of Seattle—with food stalls, street performers, crafts, and stunning views of the bay—it's chaotic in a good way and stroller/ADA friendly.
Visit Seattle Center: Home to the Space Needle, Chihuly Garden and Glass, playgrounds, fountains, and wide-open space to roam or explore festivals that pop up throughout the year.
Hop over to Woodland Park Zoo: Spacious, well-designed habitats and lots of shade for the warmer months. One of the easiest zoos to visit with children without feeling overwhelmed. Winner of the 2020 Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA) Volunteer Engagement, Diversity, Species Survival Plan Sustainability and Research awards.
Take a ferry ride: Ferries run from Seattle to Bainbridge Island and Bremerton multiple times a day year-round. Keep an eye out and you just might catch a glimpse of our local orca pods!
Take a trip under the Aurora Bridge: Home to the Fremont Troll, a giant 18-foot-tall concrete sculpture holding a real VW Beetle! It's weird, slightly spooky, and totally iconic.
Places to eat & drink in Seattle with kids

Honest Biscuits: Buttery, flaky biscuits with seasonal jams inside the Market. Simple, indulgent, and perfect for a low-key breakfast with exceptional outdoor seating.
Freya Bakery & Cafe: Scandinavian-inspired pastries and refined brunch dishes that feel special without the fuss. Pro tip: Get there early for their almond croissants!
Dick's Drive-In: No-frills burgers, fries, and shakes that locals defend passionately. Cheap, fast, and oddly perfect—especially after a long day of exploring.
Ivar's Acres of Clams: A waterfront classic serving seafood that tastes like the Pacific Northwest. Casual and very family-friendly if you grab it to go.
Daily Dozen Donut Company: Hot, fresh mini donuts made right in front of you at the Market. An instant hit for the whole family.
Need to know
Prepay for parking: Many lots and meters let you pay ahead via app, which saves stress in busy areas.
Download the King County Metro Transit app: Real-time buses, route planning, and alerts make getting around much easier.
Layer up: Weather can shift fast here in the PNW.
Bring comfortable shoes: Seattle is a hilly city, and many attractions are best explored on foot.
Plan bathroom breaks ahead: Some parks, ferry terminals, and attractions have facilities, but many do not. Use an app to help locate nearby restrooms.
