Day 1: Arrive in Malgrat de Mar

Malgrat de Mar beach

Settle into Malgrat de Mar, a coastal town where the Mediterranean stretches endlessly and the pace slows to match the tide. Spend your first day soaking in the relaxed atmosphere—whether lounging on wide beaches, strolling the promenade at sunset, or exploring Parc del Castell for sweeping views. Let the sea breeze set the rhythm for the week ahead.

Day 2: Bike ride toward Santa Susanna

Seafood is really popular in Spain

Ease into the rhythm of coastal life with a bike ride south toward Santa Susanna, passing beach bars and cafés perfect for mid-ride breaks. Spend the afternoon lounging on golden sands or exploring the town’s leafy corners. As the sun begins to set, head to the promenade for a slow walk and sea views that stretch endlessly. Malgrat’s relaxed pace invites you to enjoy the day without a schedule.

Day 3: Visit Girona

Girona is an interesting historical city.

Board a morning train from Malgrat de Mar’s central station and glide through scenic Catalan landscapes toward Girona—a city steeped in history and cinematic beauty. Upon arrival, wander the narrow lanes of the Jewish Quarter, climb the ancient city walls, and admire the cathedral’s iconic staircase. Pause for lunch at a quiet café, then enjoy gelato by the Onyar River. Girona’s charm lies in its walkability—every corner tells a story. Return to Malgrat in the evening, trading medieval magic for seaside calm.

Day 4: Explore Barcelona

Park Güell

Hop on the train from Malgrat de Mar and arrive directly in the heart of Barcelona—no transfers, no hassle. Begin your day wandering through the Gothic Quarter, then marvel at Gaudí’s architectural wonders like La Sagrada Família and Casa Batlló. Pause for lunch at a terrace in El Born, soaking in the city’s vibrant energy. In the afternoon, catch the Turistic Bus to explore Park Güell, Montjuïc, and the Magic Fountain. As evening falls, return to Malgrat, where the pace softens and the sea welcomes you back with its quiet rhythm.

Days 5-7: Take it slow

Spend your final days embracing the slow rhythm of the coast. Whether you’re reading under a parasol, sipping sangria by the shore, or simply watching the waves roll in, these days are about letting go of time. No need to pack or relocate—Malgrat remains your peaceful base, with the freedom to explore or simply stay still.
