Things to do in Tenerife

Teide National Park
Whale & dolphin watching by boat
Tenerife is widely regarded as the best whale-watching destination in Europe. Resident pilot whales can be seen year-round, along with a variety of other dolphin species, making this an unforgettable experience.
Teide National Park
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Teide National Park is home to Spain’s highest peak, Mount Teide. Visitors can hike the volcanic landscape or take a cable car for breathtaking views. This is Spain’s most-visited national park and a must-see on the island.
Anaga Rural Park
Another stunning UNESCO-recognized area, Anaga Rural Park, is a protected biosphere reserve filled with lush forests and scenic hiking trails. For spectacular photo opportunities, visit Mirador de Pico del Inglés, accessible by hiking or driving.
Visit a local vineyard
Taking time to visit a winery is well worth it while in Tenerife. One popular stop is Bodegas Monje, a family-run vineyard that has preserved its winemaking traditions since 1750.
Cueva del Viento
Cueva del Viento is the largest lava tube in Europe and the fifth largest in the world. Guided tours take visitors deep inside this remarkable volcanic formation during an immersive 2.5-hour experience.
Places to eat & drink in Tenerife

Barraquito
Bésame Mucho Restaurant & Monkey Beach Club
Seafood restaurant in Santa Cruz with beautiful views of the water that is next to the Monkey Beach Club, which is the perfect spot for after-dinner drinks.
Dulceria Hermano Pedro
This incredible bakery is located in the village of Vilaflor, the highest town in the Canaries. I would suggest trying any of their specialty pastries along with my newfound favorite coffee drink on the island, a barraquito. The barraquito is a Canarian drink consisting of layers of condensed milk, espresso, liqueur, and milk foam.
Bodegas Monje
This local winery has a restaurant on-site that offers a mojos workshop, where the on-site chef will teach you how to prepare the local “Mojo Picón con Papas Arrugadas”, red or green, sauces that they use to give flavor to their dishes. This unique experience is the perfect way to enjoy a wine pairing before a delicious lunch of Canarian favorites.
Need to know
Depending on your length of stay, you may want to consider staying in two hotels: one on the north end of the island and then another on the south end of the island.
