Advisor - Osaka Hub Adventure: A 3-Day Packed Itinerary
Curator’s statement

Traveling in Asia unlocks appreciation and desires you never knew you had or needed while traveling. Osaka is clean, the food is amazing, and the people are so polite and willing to help. Being home to a bullet train allows you to not only relax, but also to be on the go if you choose. Taking a two-hour ride to Hiroshima, or going to Super Nintendo World for the day, can all be done from the hub of Osaka.

Day 1: Bullet train to Hiroshima

Taking the bullet train to Hiroshima is quite the experience—make sure to get your tickets ahead of time. Not only will you get to ride one of the world's fastest trains, but you will also get to seek out a bit of history and enjoy some great food. I highly recommend going for oysters at the Steam Oyster Pub. This is the perfect place to get some lunch and is within walking distance of the Peace Memorial Park as well as the Hiroshima Museum of Art.

Day 2: Super Nintendo World

Going on Wednesday is preferable if you're willing to wake up early, as they let people in early on Wednesdays. Oddly, you need two entry tickets before you can enjoy yourself. The Area Timed Entry ticket can be purchased on the USJ app before get there—it's basically like making a reservation. Once you're there, you can purchase your normal admissions ticket at a kiosk.

As far as food, don't be disappointed—it's not Disney World in terms of options, but the food is delicious! There's something for everyone at Kinopio's Cafe and multiple snack and popcorn stands throughout the park.

Day 3: Relax at an onsen

After all that added traveling, it's time to relax. The onsens are popular in Osaka, and did I mention they're clean with friendly staff? Some hotels, like Onyado Nono Namba Natural Hot Spring, will offer natural spring water right in your hotel bathroom. If you want the full onsen experience however, Shintoku Hot Spring is open 19 hours a day, from 6:30 am to 1 am. They have a number of different types of baths for you to try. It's one of the most famous bathhouses in the region, I'm told. No restaurant on site, but there are vending machines for refreshments. Go get squeaky clean and relax.

Need to know

If you do choose to go to Shintoku Hot Spring, just know it's extremely public. But that's part of the experience!
