Curator’s statement
Antigua is one of my most-visited—and favorite—Caribbean destinations. Despite traveling there nearly 10 times, I’m still discovering new gems on this small but vibrant island. Famous for its 365 beaches—one for every day of the year—Antigua boasts some of the Caribbean’s most stunning shorelines, from calm, crystal-clear bays to blush-pink sands. Beyond the beaches, the island offers endless sunshine, exciting activities, and delicious local cuisine. Whether you’re planning a romantic honeymoon, a girls’ getaway, a group adventure, or a family vacation, Antigua and Barbuda has something for everyone.

Day 1: Discover the island

Morning: Island discovery tour
Start your day with breakfast, then set out on a guided island tour led by a knowledgeable local. Explore some of Antigua’s most iconic landmarks, including:
Devil’s Bridge: A natural limestone arch shaped by the Atlantic waves.
English Harbour: A historic seaport and cultural center.
Shirley Heights: A lookout point offering panoramic views of the island.
Nelson’s Dockyard: A UNESCO World Heritage Site and 18th-century naval base.
Afternoon: Stingray City Excursion
After lunch, head to Stingray City for an unforgettable wildlife encounter. This family-friendly experience is perfect for all ages—and non-swimmers.
Interact and snorkel with friendly southern stingrays. Enjoy complimentary snorkeling gear and a refreshing rum punch.
Travel tip: Don’t miss the optional excursion to the nearby tortoise sanctuary for a hands-on experience and professional photos for purchase.
Evening: Oceanfront dining at Sheer Rocks
Unwind after a full day of adventure with a scenic dinner at Sheer Rocks, one of Antigua’s most stunning cliffside restaurants.
Enjoy creative Caribbean cuisine with fresh, local ingredients, and sip cocktails as you watch the sunset over the ocean.
Day 2: Explore Barbuda

Morning & afternoon: Barbuda exploration
Begin your day with an early ferry ride to the serene sister island of Barbuda, departing from Antigua at 8 am. Once you arrive, spend the day soaking in the island’s unspoiled beauty. Relax on the stunning Princess Diana Beach, known for its soft pink sand and crystal-clear waters. For those looking to explore nature, visit the famous Frigate Bird Sanctuary, home to one of the largest colonies of frigate birds in the world, or take a short, scenic hike through Barbuda’s pristine landscape.
When hunger calls, enjoy a laid-back beachfront lunch at Uncle Roddy’s Beach Bar & Grill, a local favorite for fresh seafood and Caribbean flavors. If you’re in the mood for a luxurious dining experience, Nobu Barbuda offers elegant cuisine in a chic setting—keep in mind that it’s closed during the off-season from July to September.
Travel tip: For a more leisurely way to experience Barbuda, consider booking an all-day excursion with Excellence Catamaran Cruises Antigua, which includes drinks, lunch, and a relaxing sail across the Caribbean Sea.
Evening: Nightcap & local vibes
After returning to Antigua, unwind with a fun evening out. Whether you’re in the mood for a laid-back cocktail or a night of dancing, Antigua’s nightlife has something for everyone. For a lively, authentic island experience, head to Shirley Heights on a Thursday or Sunday night. The hilltop venue comes alive with live steel pan music, local food vendors, and panoramic views of the sunset—perfect for soaking in the island’s vibrant spirit.
Day 3: Relax & spend time poolside

Morning: Rest & recharge
After an adventurous day of sightseeing and an exciting night out, take the morning to slow down. Sleep in a little longer or ease into the day with a leisurely late breakfast. Whether you choose to enjoy a quiet moment on your balcony or sip coffee by the beach, this is the perfect time to unwind and recharge.
Afternoon: Brunch or seaside lunch
Spend your afternoon indulging in a laid-back brunch or elegant lunch at one of Antigua’s premier dining spots. Catherine’s Café, nestled on the shores of Pigeon Point Beach, offers a charming French-Caribbean menu in a breezy, barefoot-chic setting—ideal for lounging with a cocktail and ocean view. For another upscale experience, you can catch a short boat ride to The Hut at Little Jumby Island.
Evening: Poolside wind-down
Before dinner, take full advantage of your hotel’s amenities with some relaxing pool time. Lounge under the palm trees, take a refreshing dip, or catch up on your favorite book as the sun sets. It’s the perfect way to transition into the evening and prepare for another beautiful night out on the island.
Day 4: Enjoy last-minute shopping before a beachside farewell

Morning: Sunrise & seaside breakfast
Start your final day early by watching the sunrise over the Caribbean Sea—either from your balcony, the beach, or a peaceful lookout point like Shirley Heights if you’re up for the early climb. Afterward, enjoy a seaside breakfast at your hotel or a nearby café.
Late morning: Souvenir shopping & stroll
Spend the rest of your morning picking up last-minute souvenirs or gifts. Visit the Heritage Quay or Redcliffe Quay in St. John’s for local crafts, spices, and artisan goods. Take a short stroll through the town to admire the colorful architecture and greet friendly locals one last time.
Afternoon: Beachside farewell
Head to your favorite beach—or one you haven’t yet explored—for a few final hours of relaxation. Dickenson Bay, Pigeon Point, or Half Moon Bay are perfect spots to dip your toes in the water.
Optional: Grab a casual beachside lunch or light snack to savor every last bite of the Caribbean.
Evening: Departure ready
Return to your hotel with enough time to freshen up, pack, and prepare for your flight. If time allows, enjoy one last swim in the pool or a drink at the bar.
