Curator’s statement
The Hamptons — Sagaponack specifically — have been a regular escape and home away from home for me while living in NYC for the last decade plus. A summer mecca for the city and jet set crowd, the Hamptons are also lovely in the shoulder seasons with lots of natural beauty and a more low-key vibe. Each town — from Southampton to Montauk — is unique and has something different to offer so consult an expert to help plan accordingly!

Things to do in the Hamptons
Hit the beach! There are a number of gorgeous beaches here. My favorites are Sagg Main and Ditch Plains. If with a group, consider splurging for a cabana at The Beach Club at Gurney's.
Not a beach day? Visit the Sagaponack Farm Distillery and Wölffer Estate Vineyard or Farmstead.
There are lots of great shops throughout the Hamptons. Some of my favorites include Utilitaria Montauk Outpost, Duryea's Market, The Shop at Montauk Yacht Club, il Buco Vita, Innersleeve Records and TENET.
Walk around and explore the village of Sag Harbor, check out the yachts in the marina.
Pamper yourself at Shou Sugi Ban House or Topping Rose spas and wellness studios.
Day trips:
Take the ferry to Shelter Island for a late lunch and cocktails at Sunset Beach.
Places to eat & drink in the Hamptons
Southampton
Sant Ambroeus: Outpost of the NYC staple, an elegant Italian cafe, restaurant and gelateria right in town. Lovely spot for a delicious — and pricey — lunch in their courtyard.
Goldberg’s: Best bagels out East — multiple locations. This is the OG.
Sag Harbor
Le Bilboquet: Glamorous restaurant right on the marina. A lively place to see and be seen while enjoying great cocktails and French-inspired cuisine. Try their signature Cajun chicken.
Estia’s Little Kitchen: A longstanding favorite casual brunch spot with great Mexican American food utilizing fresh local produce.
Bridgehampton
Armin & Judy: Charming bistro with an amazing bakery out back.
Bridgehampton Candy Kitchen: A local institution. Kid-friendly diner with the classics and delicious homemade ice cream.
East Hampton
LDV: A new favorite. Very chic Italian restaurant for lunch or dinner in the Maidstone hotel. Lovely garden seating.
Carissa’s the Bakery: Great coffee and incredible baked goods, expect a crowd in the morning.
Amagansett
il Buco al Mare: From the famed NYC-based restaurant group, rustic Mediterranean. Great fare for lunch or dinner. Lots of fresh produce and conservas dishes ideal for sharing.
Jack’s Stir Brew: Also from NYC, the best cold brew and cappuccinos you’ll find — and 100% organic.
Montauk
Duryea's: Very good lobster and other seafood in a truly spectacular oceanfront setting. Doesn’t take reservations so expect a crowd but well worth the wait - especially at sunset.
Rooted: A low-key local favorite with great Mediterranean food in the marina.
Mostrador: Fabulous all-day outdoor cafe with high quality asado food and baked goods. Oceanfront at the Marram hotel.
