Our recent journey through Norway was nothing short of exceptional, thanks to the remarkable planning and attentive care of Michelle Horn at FORA Travel. From the outset, she listened with care, curated every detail with precision, and ensured that our experience unfolded seamlessly.

When one of our first flight connections was cancelled the night before departing, within hours, we were rebooked on another airline, and our trip began without a hitch. That responsiveness gave us tremendous peace of mind and set the tone for the journey to come.

This was more than just a vacation — it was my 84-year-old mother’s dream trip, a chance to visit the places where her ancestors lived before crossing the ocean to America. Michelle not only made that possible, but elevated it in ways we could never have imagined. She arranged visits to the very churches where both my mother’s great grandfather and great grandmother were baptized near Stord and even helped us locate the actual farm where her great grandfather was born. A private visit to the Moster Gamle Kyrkje, the oldest church in Norway, was especially emotional, and a private tour of the Moster Amphitheater, where they played her favorite song over the speakers and presented her with flowers, was a priceless and unforgettable moment.

Alongside these deeply personal experiences, Michelle ensured that every day was beautifully balanced. In Bergen, we arrived at the lovely Hotel Norge, warmly greeted by a local hostess and welcomed to a room filled with light, a stunning view, and thoughtful touches — chocolates, cheeses, and salamis awaiting us. We enjoyed a private boat trip through the spectacular fjords, where mountains rose 1,200 meters on either side. Our captain, friendly and engaging, even stopped in the small village of Mo so we could explore on foot.

Our driver during the four days of our journey through the Stord region was equally remarkable — thoughtful, kind, and such a perfect fit for us that we still find ourselves missing him. And throughout the trip, every transfer and arrangement flowed effortlessly, reflecting Michelle’s meticulous planning.

The culinary experiences she selected were unforgettable. A highlight was Cornelius, an extraordinary seafood restaurant outside Bergen, perched on a small island with breathtaking views and a true passion for food. In Oslo, our stay at the elegant Sommerro Hotel was a delight, and the rooms were spacious and luxurious. Dining in Oslo at Tjuvholmen Sjømagasin — right on the water — was without question the finest meal I have ever enjoyed. And throughout the trip, the hotels themselves offered breakfasts that were simply unbelievable — lavish, fresh, and beautifully presented.

Michelle also encouraged us to explore beyond the city and our visit outside Oslo to the Twist Museum with its sculpture park and picturesque river landscape was a highlight. I couldn’t resist purchasing a fabulous vase at the Hadeland Glassworks — a wonderful way to spend the day immersed in Norwegian art, craft, and natural beauty.

What made this journey extraordinary was not only the beauty of Norway, but the way it was revealed to us through Michelle’s vision, dedication, and care. Every moment felt considered, every transition effortless, and every experience deeply meaningful.

We are profoundly grateful for this unforgettable trip. Michelle transformed a lifelong dream into a treasured memory, and we cannot recommend her and FORA Travel highly enough. With her guidance, travel becomes not only effortless, but truly extraordinary.

Michelle is amazing! She is super quick to respond, easy and clear to communicate with and so very helpful and understanding! She helped us with everything from choosing the right hotel for our family (I was pregnant and had 2 little ones so that was a lot of weighing pros and cons of each location) to navigating travel to and from the hotel as there were no taxis on the island. She helped us communicate special room requirements for the kids. We’ve booked with her in the past as well for big extended family trips when everyone has different room preferences and back and forths and she navigates all interactions with grace. I have had only wonderful experiences with her. I tell all my friends to book through her because she’s just the best! Would give 1 million stars if I could.

From the moment we started discussing options, her suggestions were spot-on: she secured a beautiful room (upgraded room with a welcome gift), arranged an early check-in so we could make the most of our first day, and strongly recommended dinner on Caruso’s terrace at sunset—an unforgettable evening. She clearly knew the property inside and out, right down to the gorgeous Christmas decorations that made the entire resort feel magical and the little on-site shops we ended up loving. Communication was exceptional—she responded almost instantly to every question, adjusted reservations without any hassle when our plans shifted slightly, and anticipated needs I didn’t even think to mention. Her attention to detail and genuine care turned a simple getaway into a truly special trip.

Michelle listens, delivers, and makes the whole process effortless and enjoyable, she is absolutely the person to work with. I’m already excited for her to plan my next escape!
