Advisor - An Action-Packed, Family-Friendly Summer Vacation in Park City: A 7-Day Itinerary
Curator’s statement

We have a second home in Park City and have been vacationing here for years. As big skiers, we love the winter but have fallen in love with the summers over the past few years. Now that our kids are getting older, we are able to do more adventurous activities with them and really enjoy the beautiful scenery PC has to offer.

Where to stay

Unlock perks by contacting Jen to book your trip.

Day 1: Arrive in Salt Lake & drive to Park City

The soundstage in Canyons Village—lots of live music happening in the summer

  • Land in Salt Lake and grab your rental car. I recommend using Alamo so you can skip the counter and get directly to your car.

  • Drive about 35 minutes to your hotel in Park City. If you are staying at one of our preferred partner hotels, we can request an early check-in so you can unpack and enjoy the day.

  • Grab lunch at Five5eeds. I have eaten a bunch of different things here and they are all amazing. The banana bread is a must-order.

  • Settle into your hotel, unpack, and relax by the pool

  • Grab dinner at Daly’s Pub & Rec at The Montage Deer Valley if they happen to be open (they have limited hours during the summer). This is a great place for kids as they have arcade games and bowling.

Day 2: Go bike riding & enjoy some downtime at your hotel

Bloody Mary at the St. Regis

  • Grab your complimentary breakfast if staying at one of our partner hotels.

  • Head to Black Tie Bike Rentals to grab some e-bikes. We rent one bike where both kids can sit in the back if they aren’t quite ready enough to ride their own. Explore the town and its surroundings on the various bike trails. The rail trial is a great starting-out trail.

  • Once you are done with your ride, head to the St. Regis Deer Valley for lunch on the patio at Brasserie 7452. There is sometimes live music, which my kids love. Make sure to order the Bloody Mary here—it’s one of the best I’ve ever had.

  • Head back to the hotel for some downtime or pool time.

  • Have dinner at Twisted Fern. If you can get a table on the outside patio, you will have an awesome view of Park City Mountain.

  • If you have room for dessert, head to I Love Moo, located in Redstone. My kids loved it here.

Day 3: Join a UTV tour

  • Venture out on a UTV tour through Wasatch Excursions. This was a super fun way to see some beautiful views. This is a small group tour where you follow your guide on an ATV. We did the two-hour guided tour starting at 9am, which was perfect for us.

  • Grab lunch after the UTV tour at Back 40 Ranch House Grill, located in Heber City, which is on your way back to Park City. Check out the back patio for a pretty view of the creek and some horses on the farm next door.

  • Grab a casual dinner in Canyons Village at The Pendry lobby bar or Dos Olas.

Day 4: Hike Bloods Lake Trail

  • Hike Bloods Lake Trail. This is around a three-mile hike out and back, which was perfect for the kids. You can get to a beautiful lake, which serves as the mid-point of the hike.

  • Grab a casual lunch at Collie’s Sports Bar on Main Street.

  • Check out the shops on Main Street for some souvenir shopping.

  • Have dinner at Matilda. The pizza here is incredible, and the vibe is casual but very lively. The Calabrese pizza was amazing.

Day 5: Drive out to Snowbird

  • Take a drive out to Snowbird, which is around a one-hour drive from Park City. Stop in Salt Lake for brunch on your way.

  • Have brunch at Skillets. My kids ordered the kids’ board, which had a little bit of everything for them, and they loved it. The breakfast burrito and skillets are also a must-order. The tater tots were super crispy and amazing.

  • Arrive at Snowbird and check out the adventure park. You buy a day pass and can utilize the mountain coaster, and other activities as many times as you want. This is much more cost-effective compared to the adventure park at Park City Mountain.

  • Take the tram to the top, where you will be surrounded by a million butterflies, which was super cool.

  • Grab dinner at your hotel after a long day.

Day 6: Take a self-guided kayak trip along the Provo River

  • Take a self-guided kayak trip along the Provo River. This is another awesome way to experience your beautiful surroundings.

  • Grab lunch at Park City Brewing in Redstone. I recommend doing a flight so you can try out multiple beers. All the beers I tasted were excellent. The food was also great for a brewery, and they were super kid-friendly.

  • Have dinner at Remington Hall, which is located in the new Grand Hyatt Deer Valley. The views from the courtyard are amazing. They also have a life-size chess board and other yard games for the kids to play.

Day 7: Travel home

Lobby of Grand Hyatt Deer Valley

  • Grab your complimentary breakfast at the hotel before heading to the airport.

  • Head to the airport to return your car and catch your flight.
