Things to do on the Road to Hana

Kaihalulu Beach
Aloha Surf Hostel: This is the perfect spot to capture some Instagram-worthy pictures of colorful surfboards.
Twin Falls Maui Waterfall: Stunning and easy hike to see the waterfalls and pools. Plenty of spots to cliff jump into the water.
Garden of Eden Arboretum: Lush botanical gardens set on 26 acres, with trails, picnic spots, waterfalls, and coastal views. Tickets are required for entrance.
Keanae Lookout: Peninsula offering views of the ocean and tide pools plus a church and Aunty Sandy's popular banana bread.
Pua’a Ka’a Falls: Small roadside waterfall with a swimming hole.
Waiʻānapanapa State Park: Famous for its black sand beach and stunning coastal views!
Kaihalulu Beach: Also known as Red Sand Beach, this is a unique and secluded beach. Its famous red sand is formed by the erosion of iron-rich volcanic rock, creating a dramatic contrast with the turquoise waters and black lava rock formations. It's a bit of a hike to reach, but the stunning scenery makes it a worthwhile destination.

Coconut Glen's Ice Cream
Jaws Country Store: Casual eatery offering breakfast, burgers, and wood-fired pizzas, plus a gift shop.
Aunty Sandy’s Banana Bread: A must-visit spot for some delicious banana bread.
Hana Farms Roadside Stand, Pizza Oven and Bakery: Casual farm market and eatery serving wood-fired pizzas, plus cheesecakes, breads, and coffees.
Coconut Glen's Ice Cream: Ice cream parlor specializing in coconut milk-based varieties. Makes a great treat on the way back!
Mama's Fish House: This local landmark wins fans with its seafood-driven Hawai'ian menu, Polynesian decor, and epic ocean views. Reservations are highly recommended!
Need to know
It’s recommended to begin your drive early in the morning (as early as 6 or 7 am) to allow ample time for stops along the way and to return before nightfall, as the roads are narrow, winding, and not well lit after dark.

Be sure to download offline Google Maps in advance, as cell service can be limited or unreliable along parts of the Road to Hana.
