Advisor - Second Time Visit to Seattle
Curator’s statement

As a second-time visitor, I completely fell for Seattle in the summertime. My first trip was in the depths of winter, so experiencing the city under sunny skies felt like a whole new world—vibrant, buzzing, and full of energy. I spent my days eating incredible food, exploring neighborhoods like a local, and soaking in everything that makes Seattle sparkle in the warmer months.

Things to do in Seattle

  • Elliott Bay Book Company: Visiting bookstores is one of my favorite travel rituals, and Elliott Bay is a gem. Its cozy aisles and fantastic local author section make it the perfect spot to slow down and soak in Seattle’s literary scene.

  • Ballard neighborhood: This walkable neighborhood is full of personality, featuring breweries that can easily be turned into a DIY beer crawl, chic boutiques, and great eats along Ballard Avenue. The weekday vibe is especially fun, with locals working from taprooms and cafés.

  • Day trip to Bainbridge Island: A short ferry ride transports you to a quaint island straight out of a romance novel. Main Street is lined with shops, cafés, and art galleries, and nearby wineries are perfect for sipping the day away.

  • Pike Place Market: A must on any Seattle itinerary. Yes, the famous fish toss is fun, but the real magic lies in wandering through stalls brimming with vibrant produce, fresh flowers, and local artisanal goods.

  • Seattle Reign game at Lumen Field: Cheer on Seattle’s women’s soccer team and enjoy the electric atmosphere. Bonus: There’s frozen rosé, because sports are even better with a frosé in hand.

  • Chihuly Garden and Glass: A kaleidoscope of glass art in stunning shapes and colors, located right by the Space Needle. Pair it with the Museum of Pop Culture for the ultimate Seattle culture day.

  • Seattle Mariners Game: If the Mariners are in town, don’t miss the chance to join the fun at T-Mobile Park. Seattle sports fans bring big energy, and the stadium’s location next to Lumen Field makes for a full day of game-day excitement.

Places to eat & drink in Seattle

  • Six Seven Restaurant at the Edgewater Hotel: Breakfast here was a highlight every single day, think delicious dishes with a side of waterfront views. Their happy hour is equally worth a visit for tasty bites and a laid-back, scenic vibe.

  • Blackbird Bakery: A beloved Bainbridge Island bakery with an endless lineup of irresistible pastries and sweets. Perfect for grabbing a treat before strolling the island.

  • Hi-Life Poke: Hands down, some of the best poke we’ve ever had, fresh, flavorful, and unforgettable. Located in a converted gas station on Bainbridge Island, it’s as cool as it is delicious.

  • Molly Moon’s Homemade Ice Cream: Creative flavors, house-made toppings, and a fun, friendly atmosphere. The pier location is ideal for grabbing a cone before heading to a soccer or baseball game.

  • The Walrus & The Carpenter: This trendy Ballard spot is an oyster lover’s dream, serving up some of the freshest shellfish in the Pacific Northwest alongside inventive small plates.

  • Doce Donut Co.: Donuts with a Latin twist, think Tres Leches, Guava & Cheese, and other flavors that are equal parts flaky, sweet, and dreamy.

  • Oddfellows Café: A charming Capitol Hill spot that’s equal parts cozy café and lively restaurant. We loved sharing their Brioche French Toast, digging into the BLAT, and sipping on a Brown Sugar Cinnamon Latte, comfort food done right.

  • Nanu Ramen: Tucked away in Fremont, this ramen shop was the perfect dinner stop after a day of exploring. The Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen was rich and flavorful, while the Bulgogi Bowl was hearty and unforgettable.

  • Pie Bar: Part dive bar, part dessert heaven, Pie Bar serves up delicious slices à la mode with a side of laid-back vibes. We stumbled upon it on our first trip to Seattle and couldn’t resist coming back again.

Need to know

Seattle is best explored at street level, whether that’s on foot, by bike, or cruising around on one of the many rentable scooters and gliders you’ll spot all over the city. Just a heads up: Those postcard-worthy hills are real, so your calves might get a workout. And don’t be surprised if you experience a little “multi-season magic” in a single day, think cool, breezy mornings, sunny afternoons, and crisp evenings that make waterfront sunsets pure perfection.
