Curator’s statement

The Amalfi Coast is made up of many small towns along the coast. Although not technically part of the Amalfi Coast, I like to include Sorrento as part of that because it is just too nice to not be included. As you drive the coastline with its cliffs and rocks, you stumble upon views you only see in movies. You can travel this coast on a budget or go all out and 5-star all the way. Whichever way you decide, one thing you must splurge on is a boat excursion to see Capri and the coast from the water. Diving into the waters off the coast of Capri will just change your day and be the highlight of your trip. Local restaurants and agriturismos (farms) will cook you the most amazing food you have ever eaten. You don't have to spend a fortune on food for it to be mind-blowing. I can design a trip on any budget as I have traveled this coast and made many contacts and friends along the way.

Things to do in the Amalfi Coast

colorful buildings on the side of a cliff
  • Charter a boat to Capri and stop at La Conca Del Sogno for lunch. If you are really going for it, charter it a second day for the Amalfi Coast.

  • Hire a driver to spend the day with you along the coast showing you each town along the way from Sorrento to Amalfi. Ask him or her to call a local restaurant for lunch.

  • Spend the day at a beach club like Maya Beach club and take a dip in the pool or the sea.

  • Head to Positano in the early evening and stop for a cocktail at Francos Bar and take in the amazing views. Then walk down the hill into the town and enjoy the shops along the way. Once you arrive at the beach head to Chez Black for dinner and if you like nightlife walk over to Music on the Rocks for an after-dinner drink.

  • Sip a negroni while you watch the sunset from your hotel.

Places to eat & drink in the Amalfi Coast

  • Chez Black: On the beach in Positano, a celebrity hot spot with a great scene.

  • Francos Bar: Infamous and amazing, views to die for and a great place for a drink.

  • Le Grottele: Family-run agriturismo in Sorrento that cooks what it grows. Best meal I had in Italy.

  • Stuzzichino: Family-run restaurant in Santa Agata. Delicious and fun. You will see mom and dad in the kitchen.

  • La Tagliata: Great for cooking classes and famous for an amazing time while cooking. Family-style dining on the hilltop of Positano.

  • La Conca Del Sogno: What can I say except it was the highlight of my trip!? Fabulous lunch with amazing food and a daytime party you won't soon forget. This is a boat stop as it is difficult to access by car.
