Curator’s statement
I absolutely loved Crete for its perfect blend of natural beauty, culture, and adventure. The food was unforgettable—fresh and flavorful. Everywhere we went, we were surrounded by insanely gorgeous views and crystal-clear blue water. Being such a large island, there was always something new to discover, from charming villages to ancient ruins and breathtaking beaches.

Things to do in Crete

Spinalonga Island
Visit Spinalonga Island: Take a short boat ride to this little island with a big history—it used to be a leper colony, but now it’s all about cool ruins and amazing views.
Hang out at a beach club: Kick back at a beach club like Macrame or Amirandes, where you can sip cocktails, lounge in the sun, and feel totally spoiled.
Do a Cretan cooking class: Spend a fun afternoon learning to make local favorites like dakos or lamb, usually in someone’s home or a small village—it’s super authentic and delicious.
Go sailing for the day: Charter a boat and cruise along the coast, stopping to swim in hidden coves and soak up the sun with the bluest water you’ve ever seen.
Play a round at The Crete Golf Club: If you love golf, this 18-hole course near Hersonissos has great views and a laid-back vibe.
Explore Chania’s old town: Get lost in the charming streets, grab a bite by the harbor, and shop for cute local stuff—it’s one of the prettiest towns on the island.
Go wine tasting: Crete has some great local wines, and doing a relaxed vineyard tour is a fun way to sip and see the countryside.
