Travel Style
At EatMoveSeeTravels, I believe travel is about living like a local—finding culture in hidden corners, learning a few phrases in the language, and savoring fresh, authentic food and wine. I’m drawn to warm-weather destinations, secret gems, and unique spots that aren’t on every tourist’s list—whether at home in New Orleans or abroad. Since joining Fora Travel as an advisor in January of 2024, I’ve returned to the Mexican Riviera (Playa del Carmen), Panama, and New York City, and I’ve already joined like-minded adventurers on an Intrepid tour to Japan. Along the way, I’ve helped send a dozen fellow travelers around the globe and booked over $50,000 worth of travel for clients who want approachable, authentic, and memorable experiences. In spring 2025, I traversed the Panama Canal, and next up is a customized solo trip to Colombia—crafted at the same price point a cost-conscious group traveler would expect. And before 2030, I’m heading back to Mumbai and Delhi for sightseeing, as well as Florence and Barcelona for unforgettable food and wine. I keep things approachable, cost-conscious, and always with a touch of discovery. Let me customize your next trip so you can experience the world in a way that feels authentic, inspiring, and just for you.

Swati was a fantastic help in arranging our trip to Charleston. She found us a hotel in a central location and within our price range. She had considerable knowledge about the city, getting around, restaurants to go to and sites to visit. She got us a reservation at a wonderful restaurant on Valentine’s Day. She was responsive to our questions and wishes, and thorough in communicating with us. I will absolutely call upon her for her expertise on our next traveling experience.

I'd give more stars to Swati if allowed! I asked for early check-in, she delivered! I asked for history related museums, she delivered. Loved working with her!

We usually like to search websites or our own credit card and member programs, but it is a lot of work! Swati found us this hotel that wasn't even showing up in our searches. By booking w Swati, we were treated as reward members and received several nice perks.

A Few Days in Bogotá: Culture, History & Life in the Andes
Bogotá unfolds slowly. Set high in the Andes, Colombia’s capital is a city where history is not only preserved, but lived—layered into daily life through neighborhoods, markets, and cultural spaces that feel active rather than curated. This is a city shaped by Indigenous knowledge, colonial influence, political movements, and modern creative expression, all existing side by side. Spending a few intentional days in Bogotá adds grounding context to everything that follows in Colombia. Bogotá isn’t just where a journey begins—it’s where perspective deepens.

Mumbai Uncovered: A Few Days of Food, Faith, History & Living Heritage
Mumbai is a city I don’t just visit—I return to. I’ve been coming here for over 50 years for family visits and sightseeing (since I was a toddler), and with every trip, the city reveals another layer of itself. It is truly magnificent: endlessly growing, constantly modernizing, yet deeply rooted in its heritage. Few places in the world manage this balance so effortlessly. What I love most about Mumbai is how its stories are lived, not preserved behind glass. History unfolds in its architecture, in its places of worship standing side by side, in its markets that pulse with daily life, and most memorably, in its food. Every dish carries the imprint of migration, religion, colonialism, and community—flavors shaped by centuries of exchange and resilience. Mumbai is multicultural in the truest sense, not as a concept but as a lived experience. It is a city where old Irani cafés coexist with glass skyscrapers, where colonial facades frame bustling streets, and where tradition adapts without disappearing. Each visit feels both familiar and entirely new. This guide is my way of curating the Mumbai I know and love—a city that invites curiosity, rewards wandering, and reminds me that heritage is not static. It evolves, just like Mumbai itself.

Iguazú Falls: 5 Days of Wonder, Water & World-Class Hospitality
Few places on Earth make you feel small in the best possible way. Iguazú Falls is one of them. Seeing the Iguazú Falls was the trip of a lifetime. The water rushing over and flowing everywhere was exhilarating and a breathtaking work of nature. And, yet, there was even more to discover than just the falls. This side trip—perfectly paired with travel through Brazil or Argentina—delivers jaw-dropping nature, thoughtful design, and a sense of calm that lingers long after you leave. Here’s how I experienced Iguazú Falls over five unforgettable days—and why I highly recommend it.

Cruise Countdown: Family Fun Weekend in NOLA
Think New Orleans is just for grown-ups? Think again! I’ve lived here for over 30 years and have hosted friends and family of all ages—from toddlers to grandparents—and trust me, the Big Easy is perfect for a family getaway. Before you set sail from the NOLA cruise port, spend a couple of days exploring a city packed with kid-friendly fun. From IMAX shows and cooking classes at the aquarium to streetcar rides, playgrounds, putt-putt, and Storyland in City Park—there’s something for everyone. Delicious eats? Absolutely. From fresh seafood to veggie options (plus a beignet or two), NOLA keeps the whole family happy and full. No rental car needed—just grab a taxi from the airport and enjoy the ride. Make the most of your vacation before the cruise even begins!

A Vegetarian’s Guide to New Orleans: Where to Eat, Drink & Have a Good Time
After living in New Orleans, specifically in the Garden District, for over 30 years and entertaining plenty of vegetarian friends and family from around the world, (as well as being a former vegetarian myself), I’ve learned exactly where to go for a great meal in this famously meat-loving city. While New Orleans is known for gumbo, po’ boys, and seafood platters, you’ll be surprised by how many excellent vegetarian options there are—if you know where to look. Important note: This is a vegetarian guide—not a vegan one—though many places do have vegan options as well. Many can also accommodate gluten-free diets—just inquire in advance. Most of our restaurants are eager to please their customers! New Orleans' food is steeped in rich culinary history, with Italian, Greek, Lebanese, Indian, Thai, and Mexican influences, many of which offer a natural home for vegetarian dishes. Here’s my personal list of go-to spots and hidden gems for a satisfying, meat-free food tour of New Orleans.

A Weekend in the Arts District of New Orleans
Did you know New Orleans has a vibrant arts scene? Come down and hang out in the Warehouse Arts District on the first weekend of the month and enjoy a gallery hop on foot while dining on some great food in the area as well. If you manage to time your visit with one of the arts festivals, come for White Linen Night (1st weekend of August) or Art for Arts Sake (1st weekend of October). Also enjoy some fine and casual dining at some of the best spots in this town off the beaten path and away from the hustle of the French Quarter.

A Quick Weekend Getaway to Pensacola
Pensacola is a short drive from New Orleans and it’s a vibrant change of scene with different restaurants, shops, museums and access to beautiful beaches nearby. It’s also the home of the Northwest Florida Latin Salsa Festival, which occurs every summer in June in the historic downtown area of Pensacola, which was once a part of the territories of Spain before it became a part of the USA.
