My travel style
I love wandering around in a new place – this is when the fun discoveries happen. As far as hotels, my style leans towards small, well-designed (and reasonably priced) boutique properties. I've got a depth of insight into destinations after living in Toronto, Prague, Uppsala, Torino and Vancouver.
Hotel NH Piazza Carlina
On a charming square in the heart of Turin, unexpectedly modern digs housed in a restored 17th-century townhouse.
Ace Hotel New York
Handsome rooms from bunk-size to suites, plus a slam-dunk nightlife and dining scene just an elevator ride away.
Nobu Hotel Los Cabos
A new addition to the southernmost tip of the Baja Peninsula, with a winning mix of Japanese minimalism and Mexican craft heritage, plus knockout cuisine.
Recently returned from:
Hotel hopping in Cabo San Lucas.
Wine tasting in BC's Okanagan Valley.
Sitting pretty seaside in Tuscany.
Cape Town, South Africa.
One thing I can't travel without...
Three things – my laptop, my running shoes and a reusable water bottle.
Two truths, one lie:
I was born in Bermuda.
I've been detained and bribed by immigration in Bali.
I've rescued cats from Sweden, Turkey and Morocco.
