There’s few places I’ve visited where photos don’t do the natural beauty justice, and the Azores is one of them. São Miguel is the largest of the several Azores islands. It’s a paradise for nature lovers, filled with incredible volcanic landscapes, hiking trails, an abundance of wildlife, and delicious food. It’s also a great destination for a long weekend getaway (nonstop flights from East Coast cities are 5–6 hours), a stopover/add-on to a trip to Lisbon or Porto, and Ponta Delgada is a popular stop on transatlantic cruises. However you visit the Azores, it’s well worth the trip with no shortage of things to see and do.

There’s something about San Miguel de Allende that just stays with you. Part of the charm is just wandering the streets here and finding tucked-away courtyards and artisan shops with handcrafted items or just taking in the views with a cocktail at a rooftop bar. There’s an energy here that my clients absolutely love. Here’s a three-day itinerary and travel guide to San Miguel de Allende to help you make the most of your time there.

Cruising is one of my favorite ways to see the world—you unpack once and see multiple destinations. Even though I’ve been on over a dozen cruises, I always refer to my cruise packing list to make sure I’ve packed everything. After a recent cruise with my best friend, she said she needed an "Ultimate Cruise Packing List" to help her shop, prepare, and pack. So, I decided to create this guide to help plan cruise outfits, demystify the cruise aesthetic, give some cruise packing tips, and give you the ultimate cruise packing checklist.

Growing up in the suburbs of Boston, going down the Cape or to Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard was like our version of the Hamptons. While parts of it have changed over the years, its charm has remained, with many sites and restaurants still mainstays. It’s one of my favorite places to go, and I still have family that live across the Cape (from Plymouth to Dennis and Provincetown). It’s the perfect weekend getaway on its own, or as an add-on to a trip to Boston or New York.

Having Sicilian ancestry, this part of the Mediterranean is very special to me. When I first visited in 2018, it was during my honeymoon and I fell in love with the island. The hospitality, the pride of cultural identity and the preservation of generations of local traditions really struck a chord with me. Everywhere you look are staples of modern life mixed with medieval architecture and stunning landscapes. It’s a unique and beautiful island that’s often overlooked but so worth the visit, if even just for a few days.

The cobblestone streets and vibrantly colored colonial buildings of Viejo San Juan make this Puerto Rico city such a beautiful escape. It’s a hub to experience not only beautiful Caribbean beaches but history, culture & hospitality unmatched in many places. While three days isn’t nearly enough to experience all San Juan has to offer, it’s just enough to dip your toes in and get ready to return on another, longer trip!

Boston isn’t just a beautiful city steeped in history, it’s my hometown. I grew up venturing into the city every weekend, for a Red Sox game, a trip to the Museum of Fine Arts, or for food in the North End. There’s so much to do for families and couples inside the city as well as outside. Boston holds a special place in my heart, and it’s a city I love helping my clients visit.

The Athens Riviera is the best-kept secret among international travelers. I love the Greek Islands like everyone else, but I’d rather skip the ferries and flights. The Athens Riviera stretches south along the coastline, just outside of Athens. The airport is easily accessible also, meaning you fly into one destination and get to experience two different types of trips. You get a mixture of city and history along with beaches and relaxation. And with tons of luxury resorts, there’s no shortage of delicious food or world-class spas. It’s a destination I love to visit and recommend to my clients.

Often overshadowed by other parts of the UK, the Northumberland and North East England areas shouldn’t be missed. I lived in Newcastle upon Tyne for a year and fell in love with this region. It’s the perfect city to base yourself in as it’s centrally located, has a train station and international airport, and has lots to see and do in itself. There are historical monuments, stunning castles and gorgeous coastlines and landscapes. It’s the perfect area to spend a week in, or to visit on a layover when traveling between London and Edinburgh.

Ireland in November is a beautiful time to visit the Emerald Isle to experience it in all its moody, atmospheric glory. Think dramatic coastlines whipped by wind, charming days that grow shorter, and pubs crackling with warm fireplaces. While it may be chilly with more rain than other times of the year, it also brings seasonal opportunities no other time of year offers!

Mexico City is truly one of the most incredible cities you’ll visit in the entire world. Whether you’re looking to indulge in decadent food, be immersed in rich culture, or learn about a country’s vibrant history, this is truly a city that has it all. You can spend the morning wandering through a bustling neighborhood market, spend the afternoon engrossing yourself in a world-class museum, and spend the evening at a 5-star restaurant before heading out to some of the world’s best bars or a nightclub. It’s a city that is firmly rooted in its cultural heritage while embracing the modern world.

In October of 2024, I stayed here for a romantic weekend stay that did not disappoint! The staff were extremely warm & welcoming, with some of the best hospitality we’ve ever experienced on stunningly beautiful grounds. I can’t wait to stay here again and highly recommend it to my clients!

This was my first Virgin Voyage experience and it surely won’t be my last! I’ve been converted by the extremely fun, laidback and inclusive environment that Virgin fosters onboard. The fact it’s also adults-only added a lot of appeal. I’m a complete convert and I’m highly recommending it to all of my clients!

In October 2023, I had a romantic, luxurious stay at the stunning Banyan Tree Cabo Marques in Acapulco, Mexico. From the lush tropical landscape, private pool villas, Thai cuisine and impeccable service from the staff, this resort felt like we had been transported to the other side of the world. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to my clients.

Malibu’s hallmark coastline is highlighted by golden beaches, giant palm trees, and the gently sloped seaside mountains. The epitome of coastal elegance, Malibu is a quintessential California beach town with a unique celebrity allure not found elsewhere. No LA vacation is complete without a visit to this area, but it’s also the perfect escape for a vacation all its own! Celebrity Cruises is one of my favorite cruise lines, with laidback, spa-like amenities, an attentive crew and luxurious, natural design. While cruises are naturally designed for couples and families, more and more are paying close attention to solo cruisers – including Celebrity! Additionally, doing a repositioning cruise is a great way to experience unique ports, often on a budget! I would highly recommend Celebrity to my clients for a plethora of different types of vacation styles.

The Mediterranean is one of the most iconic cruising destinations in the world. I’ve had the privilege of sailing both the Eastern Mediterranean and Western Mediterranean multiple times, and there’s something to love about both. And while there are some similarities, there are many unique points to each to take into account as well. But what’s great is that you also don’t have to choose between them as there are many cruises that venture to both on the same itinerary!

South Africa is a land of epic adventures, world-class safaris and scenery that stops your heart. Mexico City is one of the most dynamic and beautiful, yet chaotic, cities in the world. It can often be daunting for first-timers to venture to such a bustling metropolis, even if they are used to the New York City’s or London’s of the world; CDMX (as it’s referred to) is unlike many others. As someone who visits multiple times a year, with family and friends who call it home, let this five day itinerary be your guide to start exploring this wonderful city that you’ll undoubtedly fall in love with.

A weeklong adventure in Japan that takes you from Tokyo to Sapporo means you’ll explore some of Japan’s best kept secrets. When people typically think of visiting Japan, their itinerary hits such hotspots as Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto and Nagoya, among others. These cities, however, are all located in the southern half of Japan. But Japan’s northern half is full of rich history, deep cultural traditions and picturesque landscapes that are well worth a visit!

Scotland is a country of breathtaking, majestic landscapes that look stunning in photos but still pale in comparison to seeing it in real life. Filled with historical monuments and ruins, from wildlife to stunning vistas, there’s a sight to see at every turn. It’s no wonder that Portugal has become one of the hottest destinations in Europe. From the industrial north to the rugged southern coastlines, it’s a country of immense beauty. If far-flung islands are also your cup of tea, extend your stay in Portugal by flying to the islands of Madeira or the Azores. But if you have to stay on the mainland, rent a car and venture from the north in Porto, southward to Lisbon and on to the Algarve region. This one-week itinerary will hit the best spots Portugal has to offer you!

Rodeo Drive: designer stores galore, endless luxury and celebrity sightings to top it all off. But after maxing out your credit card, you’ll be yearning for some proper rest and relaxation. Tucked away amongst the glitz of Beverly Hills are hidden-gem hotels near Rodeo Drive, each a unique escape to refuel you after your day of shopping.

While often overshadowed by Paris, Lyon or Marseilles, the city of Toulouse in southwestern France is a charming gem not to be missed. Known as “The Pink City,” for its terracotta brick buildings, it is filled with quaint neighborhoods, historic landmarks and scenic landscapes well worth a visit. There are also plenty of day trips to take out of the city that make Toulouse a great hub for your explorations around this part of the country. Whether it’s exploring the city or venturing out, there are tons of things to do in Toulouse, one of my favorite cities in France!

New Orleans has been dubbed the “most unique” city of the United States. Thanks to its vibrant nightlife, distinctive music, steeped history, cultural traditions, annual celebrations and delectable cuisines, New Orleans has earned its reputation. Even so, life here is more laid back (hence its nickname: The Big Easy), and while there’s more to see and do to stretch well past 24 hours, there’s a lot you can pack into a day in New Orleans.

New York City is a bustling metropolis I’ve been visiting since I was a little kid growing up in neighboring Boston. This was our annual weekend getaway (at Christmastime, no less, with lights & decorations across the city at every turn). But especially having been so many times for so long, I’ve been fortunate to visit all of the major tourist attractions, and I’d argue they’re my least favorite things to see & do in the city. While essential for any first-time visitors, I’d suggest getting off the beaten path and enjoying other things the city has to offer.

Paris is one of my favorite cities – delicious food, beautiful architecture, incredible museums, and amazing day-trip opportunities out of the city. I will confess, however, after I first visited over a decade ago, I wasn’t much of a fan. My now husband dragged me back, as it was on his bucket list, and I am so grateful he did! What I discovered is that there are a few keys to enjoying your time in this city: the time of year you visit, as well as understanding & accepting cultural differences. But there is no reason to visit the City of Lights and not have an absolutely marvelous experience with these recommendations!

Acapulco is home to world-class restaurants and modern luxury cliffside resorts. Once the go-to destination of Hollywood’s elite (from Elizabeth Taylor to Elvis Presley), Acapulco’s allure faded, with many foreign tourists favoring destinations like Cancun, Cabo and Puerto Vallarta. Acapulco has remained a popular destination for Canadians and Mexicans, however, and the area has seen a resurgence in development recently. Thanks to this, Acapulco is poised to become one of Mexico’s popular beach destinations again for years to come!

Temecula is the perfect wine-tasting weekend escape for couples and friend groups (including bachelorette parties!) from Los Angeles or San Diego. It’s often overlooked in favor of neighboring Santa Ynez and Los Olivos, and it's completely overshadowed by Napa and Sonoma in Northern California. But I would argue that Temecula more closely resembles Mexico’s Valle de Guadalupe in terms of climate, soil and topography but more low-key and without the need of a border crossing!

Napoli is a city unlike many others: torn apart and passed between empires for centuries, only to be regenerated as a thriving, powerful hub of the country. Its influences from past occupation and rule can be felt everywhere, from the Greeks to Normans, the French and the Spanish. Nestled between the bright blue aqua waters of the Mediterranean to its west and the slopes of Mount Vesuvius to its east. There are so many things to do in Naples, Italy but all one needs to do embrace La Dolce Vita to combat the frenetic energy this bustling port city exudes.
