My travel style is rooted in seeking serene, untouched landscapes and the pure beauty of nature, often venturing off the beaten path to uncover hidden gems. Books I’ve read inspire my journeys, guiding me to destinations rich with the magic of their settings. While I prefer exploring lesser-known sites, I also enjoy immersing myself in the unique energy of each city I visit, appreciating its history, art and culture. Cruises offer me a perfect way to unwind, with every detail handled and the chance to relax completely while exploring multiple destinations in one seamless journey. Ireland holds a special place in my heart, but I’m open to all travel experiences that promise unforgettable memories.

Patty was very responsive and helpful and obtained significant onboard credits (so much so that the Seabourn guest services person couldn't believe it!). St. Andrews University Graduation Celebration: Exploring Edinburgh & St. Andrews
St. Andrews and Scotland became special to us the moment our goddaughter chose it for university. That decision instantly turned the destination into a promise we made to be there for her big moment. Walking the same cobbled streets and ruins she'd called home for four years, visiting her favorite haunts and watching her cross the stage at graduation, gave the trip a depth that pure sightseeing never could. Pairing that with Edinburgh's castle-and-close atmosphere and a few well-chosen day trips added Scotland's history and beauty to the trip. The heart of this trip stayed personal: celebrating someone we love reach a milestone we'd committed to years earlier. It's now woven into our extended family story, not just a place we visited.

Lake Placid was my home for 10 years and remains my home away from home. I was fortunate to spend many years working at the Mirror Lake Inn Resort and Spa while enjoying all of what this pristine Adirondack town had to offer. Filled with a welcoming community of tight-knit outdoor enthusiasts, winter sports icons, nature lovers, and relaxation seekers, Lake Placid is the ultimate getaway no matter the time of year but summer? Ahhh, summer is the most incredible time to visit this mountain gem. Pro tip: The town is on Mirror Lake, not Lake Placid!

After enduring a long, dreary New England winter, my husband and I were more than ready to escape to sunshine, warm breezes, and a healthy dose of Vitamin D. A cruise felt like the perfect way to unwind—but the question was, where could we go that we hadn’t already explored? The answer came in the form of NCL’s 7-day Southern Caribbean cruise aboard the Viva. While we had visited a couple of the ports before, the itinerary included several new-to-us destinations—Aruba (high on our must-see list), Curaçao, and St. Kitts. We also looked forward to returning to the Dominican Republic and St. Lucia. The combination of onboard relaxation, familiar favorites, and exciting new stops made it an ideal getaway.
