My Story

French by birth, Californian by heart, I’m a travel advisor with a passion for connecting curious travelers to the people and places that make a destination truly special. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area and originally from the Loire Valley—one of France’s most celebrated wine regions—I specialize in curating authentic, immersive journeys focused on wine, gastronomy, and cultural heritage. Fluent in French, English, German, and Italian, I love bridging cultures and creating meaningful connections for my clients. I seek out hidden gems and slow-travel destinations, from the lesser-known vineyards of the Loire Valley to the Mosel's enchanting three-country region (France, Germany, Luxembourg) and beyond. I’m equally passionate about showcasing California’s rich wine culture and local artisans through thoughtfully designed itineraries.

If you’re looking to discover the stories behind the wines, meet passionate local producers, and savor the true spirit of a place—whether in Europe or California—I’m here to make it happen.

Travel Style

I design journeys that move at a slower pace—where every glass of wine, every shared meal, and every local story has space to be savored. As a French native from the Loire Valley with family roots in Emilia-Romagna, Italy, and now based in the San Francisco Bay Area, I blend Old World heritage with New World curiosity. My specialty is uncovering the authentic sides of Europe and California through immersive wine, food, and cultural experiences.

What makes my trips different is my personal connection to the places I recommend: from the vineyards of the Loire Valley, to Italy’s rich culinary heartlands, to the cross-border Mosel region spanning France, Germany, and Luxembourg, I curate itineraries that celebrate local winemakers, artisans, and traditions you might otherwise miss. Fluent in French, Italian, German, and English, I also help you break down barriers and open doors to authentic encounters.

If you dream of slowing down, connecting deeply, and living fully through food, wine, and culture, I’ll help you design a journey that feels both meaningful and unforgettable.

The Ultimate Champagne Experience – Expertly Guided by Julie Bizzarri

If you are planning a visit to the Champagne district, the best decision you can make is to work with Julie Bizzarri at Adagio Travel.

As our US-based organizing and booking coach, Julie didn't just plan a trip; she curated an experience perfectly personalized to our wishes. Most impressively, she was able to adapt our itinerary on the fly as we had new ideas even after our journey began. She is incredibly easy to work with and her deep knowledge of the region and its wines is second to none.

The Highlight of Our France Visit: Le Château d’Etoges

Julie’s recommendation to stay at Le Château d’Etoges was inspired. The stay was nothing short of epic. We enjoyed:

  • The Setting: Beautiful grounds and a location that feels like a fairytale.
  • The Routine: Quiet morning runs through the vineyards followed by a decadent Champagne breakfast.
  • The Dining: The onsite restaurant is a must—fantastic food and a perfect atmosphere.

A Perfect Day in Reims

Our visit to Reims was equally unforgettable. We had lunch at La Grande Georgette, which provided an amazing display of epic French cuisine. While the weather kept us inside, we still enjoyed a stunning view of the Reims Cathedral. Afterward, we took a leisurely unguided stroll through the Cathedral and the central part of the city—a perfect, low-pressure way to soak in the history.

The Wine Experience: From Boutique to Grand Maison

Julie’s expertise shone through in the balance of our tastings:

G.TRIBAUT: A wonderful discovery in Hautvillers where we explored smaller, family-owned Champagne production.

Taittinger: Our guide made this world-renowned cellar tour feel personal and cozy. Tasting the Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs in that setting was a truly elite experience.

My wife and I had a lovely time, and we owe so much of that to Julie’s planning and flexibility. If you want a seamless, knowledgeable, and highly personalized tour of Champagne, look no further than Julie and Adagio Travel!

Julie found us a great hotel walking distance from the train station.

Julie found us a nice room blocks from the beach. The central location was great for exploring the town.

Julie nailed the location. We were close to transportation and the neighborhood was great. The Born neighborhood had a relaxed feel and plenty of good restaurants. If you want to do the touristy thing the Gothic quarter is not far away.
