My Story
My relationship with travel started before I could choose it. I grew up in New York City to Polish parents, with extremely strong ties to Poland. My father spent 30 years working in the airline industry in New York. Growing up, that meant standby tickets and more travel than we could have otherwise afforded. Summers were spent outside Warsaw, at the Mazurian Lakes, or traveling from Warsaw as a central base. Winters were spent with my Polish ski club in the Tatry mountains, in the Alps, or with family and friends in upstate New York, Vermont, or the Rockies.
For us, travel was never about swimming in the biggest pool, eating at the hottest restaurant, or taking the iconic photo. It was about being somewhere fully, understanding the people, the language, the culture, and learning.
I think about my work as a travel advisor as a full-circle moment. Back to the roots of where it all began. Inspired by my dad, who I watched for decades connect people and places and make travel feel real, personal, and possible.
Recently, I took my kids skiing in France, only to learn after completing the Vallée Blanche, a famous off-piste route down Mont Blanc, with my 7, 11, and 12 year-olds, that my dad had skied the very same run 25 years earlier. A full-circle moment, without ever planning it that way.
Travel Style
My own travel style comes from years of experience and a lot of research, but once I arrive, I tend to put the research aside. I want to understand a place before I go, without feeling like I have to follow a list once I’m there. I’m often more interested in the feeling behind a recommendation than the recommendation itself, and I always leave room to explore.
When I plan for clients, I’m much more meticulous. I research the logistics, think through the transitions, narrow down the hotels, and make sure you feel prepared before you go. I’m always looking for the less obvious boutique finds and thinking about what actually fits you, rather than what everyone else is doing. The goal isn’t to plan away the spontaneity. It’s to take care of the things that could get in the way of it.
I travel to be inspired, whether by adventure, beauty, culture, or just a moment that makes me stop and take it all in. Those are the things I bring home with me, the experiences that stay with me long after the trip has ended. Travel changes you. Every time. The only thing left, is to go!

travel to Croatia

Joanna at Full Circle Travel planned the most incredible trip for our group through Croatia, taking us seamlessly from Split to Dubrovnik and creating an experience that truly exceeded our expectations. From the very beginning, Joanna took the time to understand exactly what we were looking for and thoughtfully customized every part of the trip around the interests of both the adults and the kids.
Every island and destination we visited had its own personality and felt perfectly chosen for our group. Some days were filled with more excitement, activities, and adventure, while others focused on experiencing Croatia’s incredible natural beauty and gave us time to slow down and take everything in. We loved having that balance throughout the week. Joanna also managed to find places and experiences that felt special and authentic rather than overly touristy. Even during the busy summer season, we rarely felt like we were surrounded by crowds, which made the trip that much more memorable.
What impressed us most was the incredible attention to detail. Traveling with a group that included both adults and children could easily have felt complicated, but everything was planned so seamlessly that we never had to think about what came next. From the hotels and boat experiences to our transfers, activities, and recommendations, every detail was handled beautifully. The entire itinerary flowed effortlessly, and we were able to truly relax and enjoy our time together.
Joanna has an amazing ability to listen to what her clients want and turn it into a trip that feels completely personal. Nothing about our vacation felt generic or cookie-cutter. It genuinely felt like every stop and experience had been selected specifically for us.
Our trip from Split to Dubrovnik was unforgettable, and so much of that was because of the thought, care, and expertise Joanna and Full Circle Travel put into planning it. It was one of those trips where everything simply worked, allowing us to focus on enjoying Croatia and making incredible memories together. We would recommend Full Circle Travel without hesitation and would absolutely trust Joanna to plan another trip for our family in the future.

From choosing restaurants and chef services to managing transportation, she truly thought of everything! Leading up to the trip, she made sure everyone’s needs were being met in our itinerary and fielded endless questions and requests from our group. I cannot wait to work with her again!

Working with Joanna Cahill was excellent! She truly understood my need and desires. This was a special trip for my husband's birthday and she exceeded expectations!
I had an excellent experience from start to finish. Joanna really took the time to understand my preferences and put together a trip that had everything I wanted. Every detail—from flights to accommodations, transfers, restaurants, guide reccos- all handled seamlessly. I especially appreciated how responsive and knowledgeable she was whenever I had questions. I would definitely use her services again and I already have recommended her to friends!

Croatia by Sail: Stone Towns, Hidden Coves & the Freedom to Change Course
Croatia had been on my travel list for years, but exploring it by catamaran completely changed the way I think the Dalmatian Coast should be experienced. Rather than rushing from one famous destination to the next, we let the weather, the sea, and our skipper guide our journey. Some of our favorite moments weren't planned at all. They were quiet coves, spontaneous waterfront dinners, and hidden swimming spots we never would have found on our own. Traveling with four adults and five children, I was pleasantly surprised by how well this style of travel worked for families. Our days naturally blended historic stone towns, crystal-clear water, cliff jumping, leisurely meals, and relaxed evenings on board, creating an itinerary that felt adventurous without ever feeling rushed. If you're looking for a trip that combines luxury, authenticity, and the freedom to discover Croatia at your own pace, sailing the Adriatic offers an experience that's difficult to replicate any other way.

Sri Lanka: From Beaches to Bawa, A Journey Through Design, Nature & Adventure
A good friend of mine moved to Sri Lanka, so I jumped at the opportunity to visit her. What I found completely surpassed my expectations. The roads buzz with tuk-tuks, buses, scooters, and energy, while the beaches somehow remain peaceful and serene. Ayurveda wellness traditions are woven into daily life, and the influence of the Bawa brothers can be felt throughout the country through their architecture and enduring design legacy. Sri Lanka remains remarkably affordable for American travelers and is a hidden gem for those seeking design, culture, beauty, food, and adventure in one unforgettable destination.
