The Whitsunday Islands are absolutely magnificent and untouched. Hamilton Island is one of the most special places I have ever been and Airlie Beach is such a cool bohemian beach town. The options to travel between islands and around the area are endless—boat, plane, and helicopters are all easily accessible. Highly recommend pre-booking restaurants and reserving a golf cart ahead of your visit to Hamilton Island during the high season.

The Ashes Cricket Tournament plays a test match every December and alternates between England and Australia. The Boxing Day test match (which can last up to five days) has been a bucket-list dream my husband’s entire life. After a year of planning and coordinating, we finally made his cricket dreams come true! The Melbourne Cricket Ground is the most prestigious and iconic place to see a match.
