I grew up spending every summer on O‘ahu, and over the years it became a second home to me. Returning now with my own kids feels like bringing them into a beloved chapter of my childhood. O‘ahu truly has it all—stunning beaches, lush mountains, vibrant culture, and endless activities—blending the beauty of Hawaiʻi with so many opportunities for adventure and discovery.

I’ve been traveling to Kauaʻi since I was a kid, and while I adored it growing up, I’ve come to love it even more now that I get to share its beauty with my own children. There’s something magical about this island—its lush, untouched landscapes, the warm ocean breeze, and, of course, the charm of wild chickens roaming around every corner. One moment we’re hiking to a waterfall or zip-lining through the treetops, and the next we’re barefoot in the sand, watching the kids squeal with delight as the waves chase their toes. Kauaʻi’s beauty is unlike anywhere else, and it’s a place that will forever be a part of our family’s story.

Carlsbad is one of our favorite destinations to visit with our kids. This charming beach town has everything we love: beautiful coastlines, a welcoming atmosphere and endless opportunities for family adventure. Plus, with San Diego attractions just a short drive away, it’s the perfect blend of laid-back beach vibes and exciting nearby activities.

Hilton Head holds a special place in my heart. It's not just the stunning beach that beckons me, but the family ties that bind me to this coastal gem. I've come to appreciate the allure of the Lowcountry, where sand and waves meet Southern hospitality. What makes Hilton Head unique? The beach, of course, but it's also the alligators lurking in the waterways and the playful dolphins dancing in the waves. My tip for this trip: Embrace the easygoing spirit of the island, relax, and savor every moment. Hilton Head invites you to unwind and enjoy life at its own pace.

Scottsdale is one of my favorite places to go with my kids. There are so many diverse activities to do at all times of the year. Yes, even in that Arizona Summer heat! From fabulous hotels boasting pools that'll make your kids jump for joy to mouthwatering dining options and desert trails just a stone's throw away, Scottsdale has something for everyone.

Calgary is the epitome of urban and natural beauty. In the heart of this lively city, you'll find endless entertainment options, but the real gem lies in the breathtaking countryside. There is no shortage of amazing day trips right around the city. I spent every summer here as a kid, so sharing it with my kids is even more special. Let's explore this perfect blend of city and nature!

Denmark is one of my favorite countries and cultures in the entire world. You cannot truly experience Denmark and leave without falling in love with it. I lived in Denmark for a little over a year and I lived in a suburb of Copenhagen for six months. My suggestions and recommendations might not be the trendiest, or the most luxe, but they will truly immerse you in Danish culture. Denmark is the place of “Hygge” which really just equals being present and enjoying the moment and those around you. If you look up the translation it will say “cozy”, but it truly is a feeling that cannot be translated. Copenhagen is the most popular city as it is the capital, so it is the perfect place to start your Danish journey.

Charleston is a beautiful city right on the coast. While it's often seen as an adult destination, Charleston offers an array of activities that are perfect for families with kids. From the picturesque fountains where little ones can splash and play to the aquarium teeming with local wildlife, there's so many adventures waiting for families to explore.
