Working with Alex never felt like working with some generic travel agent. It felt like having a smart, thoughtful friend quietly running point on the logistics so I could focus on the parts of the trip that actually matter to me. From the start, he spent time understanding how I travel: the energy I wanted from the neighborhood, my interest in design, my need for good cafés where I could write, and the balance I like between planning and freedom. He didn’t bombard me with random hotel options. He made a clear case for Mondrian Condesa, walked me through the rate, the perks, and the third‑night‑free structure, and made sure the value equation worked. His suggestions were specific and matched my taste instead of reading like a generic “best of” list scraped from the internet.
Where he really stood out was once the trip actually started. He stayed present without hovering, checked in at natural moments, and made it clear that if anything went wrong, I wasn’t on my own. When the hotel slipped—from the clothes left in the closet, to the elevator issue, to the way they stopped engaging with him after I checked in—Alex immediately shifted into full advocacy mode. He laid out the issues clearly for the property, kept following up when they didn’t respond, and always kept me updated. Even as the hotel’s behavior missed the mark, his didn’t. He stayed steady, responsive, and fully on my side. I’d give Alex a clear 5 stars. He’s attentive, professional, and genuinely goes above and beyond. I’d work with him again in a heartbeat and would recommend him to anyone who wants a travel advisor who can blend taste, logistics, and real care without making the trip feel over‑managed.

He’s so nice and accommodating! Helped me find the perfect hotel for my travels and was able to do a last-minute switch for me! He even got me a cake and champagne because my trip was for a birthday! Amazing!

Alex listened to every need of my travels, and even though I booked quite late (the day of arrival as it was a spur-of-the-moment decision) the price was comparably cheaper than if I had gotten it through the hotel website.

Explore Tokyo Like a Local
Name a more dreamlike destination than Tokyo. I’ll wait. From opulent hotels tucked in cloud-brushing skyscrapers and a crazy, sexy, cool nightlife scene to tranquil temples and historic shrines, the glittering megalopolis quite literally has it all. It’s no surprise that the world’s most populous city (and the most Michelin-starred city in the world) is also a top-trending destination. Well, I don’t know about you, but I prefer to order my morning coffee without the sight of TikTok creators finger-tapping at iPhones. Below, I’ve rounded up some of my favorite underrated neighborhoods and spots frequented by locals that are slightly off the tourist trail.

Two Affordable Tokyo Gems: Agora Tokyo Ginza and TSUKI Tokyo
Tokyo’s hotel scene can feel overwhelming. Yet tucked into some of the metropolis’s most dynamic neighborhoods are two under-the-radar properties that are stylish, design-savvy, and reasonably priced all at once. Both are part of the Agora Hotel Alliance, offering thoughtful touches and a sense of place no matter which you choose. Meet Agora Tokyo Ginza and TSUKI Tokyo: just a short walk apart, but each delivers a distinctly different Tokyo experience.

Hotel Review: art’otel Rome Piazza Sallustio
Tucked away in a serene, upscale residential enclave near Rome's historic center, art'otel Rome Piazza Sallustio offers a tranquil retreat that masterfully blends art and hospitality. Despite its peaceful setting, this hidden gem is just a short stroll from iconic attractions such as the Trevi Fountain and Villa Borghese, providing guests with both relaxation and easy access to the city's vibrant life and highly Instagrammable landmarks.

Hotel Review: The Prince Gallery Tokyo Kioicho, a Luxury Collection Hotel
The kaleidoscopic views alone make staying at this beyond-stylish oasis in the sky worthwhile. Opened in 2016, the 250-key property, designed by architecture and design practice Rockwell Group in Madrid, is a magnet for jet-setters seeking sophisticated yet cool luxury. From the highly Instagrammable lobby that evokes a modern art gallery to the sleek and sexy guest rooms at the Prince Gallery Tokyo Kioicho, there’s so much to swoon over at this design-forward home-away-from-home in the heart of the glittering megalopolis.

Hotel Review: The Rebirth of the Iconic Prince Kitano New York
The perfect hotel does exist, and it’s located at 66 Park Avenue. I’m specifically talking about The Prince Kitano New York, the first Japanese-owned hotel in New York City. Formerly known as The Kitano Hotel New York, the 150-key property has been a magnet for celebrities and dignitaries from Japan and luxury-seeking travelers since swinging open its doors in 1973. Following a years-long renovation and a redesign spearheaded by global architecture firm Modellus Novus, The Prince Kitano New York has recently been vibrantly reborn. From its understated and elegant guest rooms to its high-end kaiseki restaurant and lively lobby, The Prince Kitano New York remains one of Manhattan’s most coveted stays. Plus, the chic hideaway is just a stroll away from Grand Central Terminal, Bryant Park, museums and the hottest restaurants in town.

Downtown NYC: Where to Eat, Drink, Shop and Stay
There’s no place like downtown New York City. I’ve lived below 14th Street since 2007 for a reason! From the ever-electric and edgy East Village to the swanky, fashionista-filled SoHo, downtown NYC has so much to offer. Here are some of my favorite spots.
