Curator’s statement
My August 2025 Alaska cruise on the Norwegian Bliss was one of those trips where everything—from the scenery to the food to the entertainment—felt unforgettable. Sailing out of Seattle, the adventure began right away, and the Bliss lived up to its name every single day.

Kayaking in Icy Strait Point, Alaska.
One of the first things I fell in love with was The Waterfront, the ship’s beautiful outdoor promenade. I loved strolling along the ocean’s edge, breathing in the cool Alaskan air, and taking in glacier views that looked like they belonged on a postcard.
The ship was packed with things to do. Racing on the Bliss Speedway was unlike anything I’ve experienced at sea—those hairpin turns with the ocean rushing by were pure fun. Horizon Park added even more action, and the Ocean Loops slides definitely woke up my inner kid.

For something slower and more scenic, I found myself constantly returning to the Observation Lounge. With panoramic views and a sunset cocktail in hand (thank you, Unlimited Open Bar!), it became my favorite place to unwind.

The food on the Bliss really impressed me, especially the specialty restaurants:
Food Republic: One of my top choices. Their Asian-Latin fusion tapas were perfect for sharing and exploring new flavors.
Teppanyaki: A fun, energetic dining experience where the chefs put on a show while preparing shrimp, steak, chicken, and fried rice right at the table. Delicious and entertaining.
La Cucina: Classic Italian comfort with fresh ingredients. My spaghetti carbonara was excellent, and the affogato at the end was perfection.
Palomar: Norwegian’s first Mediterranean restaurant did not disappoint. Fresh seafood, refined flavors, and a casually sophisticated atmosphere made it one of the highlights.

For more laid-back meals I loved:
The Local Bar & Grill: Fish n’ Chips became my go-to comfort dishes. A great place to grab a drink and catch a game.
Garden Café: A reliable buffet with plenty of variety for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
The entertainment onboard was outstanding, especially Jersey Boys. The story, the music, the energy—everything about the show was Broadway-caliber. I walked out with the songs stuck in my head in the best way.
I also spent some time in the onboard casino, which added a fun bit of nightlife to the trip. Whether I was trying my luck at the slots or watching the action at the tables, it made the evenings feel lively and exciting.
To balance the excitement, I booked a spa treatment that ended up being one of the most relaxing parts of the cruise. The thermal suite and the calming atmosphere was exactly what I needed after busy port days.

Speaking of ports, the excursions were incredible:
Juneau: Whale watching and glacier views that I’ll never forget.
Ketchikan: Colorful, charming, and easy to explore.
Sitka: A unique mix of nature, Russian history, and coastal beauty.
Icy Strait Point: One of the best parts of the trip. The scenery was stunning, and the wildlife felt so close—bald eagles, whales, and forests untouched by big crowds. The excursion here felt authentic and peaceful, just pure Alaska.
Victoria: A beautiful, elegant final stop with gardens and waterfront views.
