Curator’s statement
Jamaica is one of those destinations that immediately slows you down into island time. Staying at Ocean Eden Bay gave us the perfect couples’ escape, adults-only luxury paired with just the right mix of adventure. Between ATV rides, catamaran cruises, and deep-sea fishing, we balanced exploration with evenings of lobster dinners, live music, and sunsets on the beach. Trelawny delivered everything we hoped for: relaxation, connection, and experiences worth coming back for.

Our base for this trip was Ocean Eden Bay, a modern adults-only resort on Jamaica’s north coast. With infinity pools, a private beach, and spacious suites, it was the ideal setting for a romantic getaway. The Despacio Spa was one of our favorite experiences. A couples’ massage followed by the hydrotherapy circuit gave us the kind of reset only a Caribbean vacation can provide.

Getting there was just as special. We booked our transfers through Best Jamaica Reservations, and Miguel went above and beyond. He greeted us with a decorated van featuring a “Congratulations” banner for our 12-year anniversary and a “Happy Birthday” banner for my brother-in-law. That thoughtful touch set the tone for the entire trip. Miguel also coordinated our Chukka ATV Safari, where we bounced through jungle trails that opened onto stunning stretches of beach.

Adventure mode: ATV safari through Trelawny’s trails and coastline
We made time to explore beyond the resort. A catamaran cruise and snorkeling trip gave us the chance to soak up Jamaica’s coastline with reggae music and rum punch. The highlight for Barrett was deep-sea fishing, where he reeled in an impressive catch, a bucket-list moment we will never forget. And of course, Jamaica’s food was a star of the trip: escovitch fish and lobster at Sharkie’s, jerk chicken at Scotchies, and fresh seafood dinners at the resort, always paired with a cold Red Stripe.

Sunshine, saltwater, and reggae; nothing beats a catamaran day in Jamaica

Fresh lobster, ocean views, and a Red Stripe; Sharkie’s is the ultimate beachside indulgence
Evenings were all about slowing down. Candlelit lobster dinners, live reggae shows, and walks along the beach under the stars made every day feel complete. Ocean Eden Bay gave us the balance of adventure and indulgence that makes Jamaica a destination we will always want to return to.
