While all rooms technically have water views, they overlook the resort’s sparkling pools rather than the ocean—this is due to the hurricane barrier along this stretch of coastline. Still, the lush greenery and shimmering pool views create a private, tranquil atmosphere throughout the property.

The two-bedroom Master Suite is perfect for small groups or friends traveling together. It’s technically a connecting suite—the only one on property—and guests who want the full luxury experience can add Reserve benefits by contacting the hotel directly. They also work diligently to manage sargassum, which can sometimes appear along this coastline, ensuring guests can enjoy the beach without issue.

One of my favorite things about this property is its sense of seclusion. La Perla is the only resort in this particular area, giving it a private and exclusive feel that’s hard to find in Playa del Carmen. Whether relaxing by the pool, enjoying dinner at Sal, or unwinding on the beach, it always felt peaceful and uncrowded.
