Fiji Dreaming: A Beachfront Stay in a Private Bure
Curator’s statement

Fiji is a place I find myself returning to—it’s where I can truly slow down and reset. There’s something special about the warmth of the people, the calm of the water, and the simplicity of days spent barefoot by the beach. Staying in a beachfront bure felt both grounding and indulgent—and reminded me of why I keep coming back.

This was my third visit to Fiji, and for this trip, we chose to stay at the Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay. It turned out to be one of those rare places where you can truly switch off and unwind. Just 50 minutes from Nadi International Airport, the resort is set around tranquil waters and offers a great balance of comfort, scenic beauty, and relaxed island vibes.

We stayed in a Lagoon Bure King, a large, stand-alone villa with direct beach access right outside our deck. The bure was spacious and beautifully appointed, featuring high ceilings, a separate bathtub, and a private terrace that opened onto calm, clear waters—perfect for slow mornings and quiet afternoons. The Lagoon and Ocean-View Bures are definitely a standout, especially for guests seeking more space and privacy.

The stretch of beach in front of our bure was generous and peaceful—ideal for unwinding without the crowds. We found ourselves spending most of our time there, often choosing it over the busier family or adult pools. That sense of seclusion and calm was a real highlight of the stay.

For those wanting to stay active, the resort offers a variety of activities, including snorkeling, cocktail-making classes, and cultural experiences. The spa is another hidden gem—tucked away in a quieter part of the property, it’s perfect for indulging in a massage or facial. Service throughout the resort was consistently warm and welcoming, with that signature Fijian hospitality that makes you feel right at home.

Families are well-catered to, with a kids’ club and a dedicated kids’ pool offering options for little ones while adults enjoy some downtime. Dining is convenient, with multiple on-site restaurants serving a range of cuisines. For longer stays or those traveling with children, the all-inclusive package can offer added value and ease, eliminating the need to plan every meal.

Overall, Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay is an excellent choice for couples, honeymooners, and families alike. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just in need of a relaxed tropical escape, this resort delivers with beautiful views, comfortable accommodations, and attentive service in a stunning setting.

If you’re thinking about visiting Fiji, I’d love to help you plan a seamless journey with added perks, flexible options, and tailored recommendations from start to finish.
