Curator’s statement
While traveling to Cartagena, Colombia, I spent a few nights at Las Islas. It was such an unforgettable vacation full of luxury, nature and so much adventure! This luxurious resort is located in Baru, a small island off the coast of Cartagena. You can arrive via boat, helicopter and the least recommended auto route. The property consists of one and two-bedroom treetop or sea level bungalows, some featuring private pools. The dining, spa and activity options are top-notch! Ultimately, Las Islas is such a versatile location where you can celebrate romanticism, bring your kids and family for endless fun or even enjoy a solo retreat.

Isleta Pool; Private Patio Jacuzzi
The property is one of my personal favorites, as my time there was incredible! We opted for a two-bedroom treetop bungalow with sea views and a jacuzzi. The resort offers complementary golf carts and drivers to get around, which makes it easy to explore. We visited the award-winning Spa Niña Daniela and booked a ritual for two. It included wet areas, wine, massage, scrub and an oxygen facial. Dinner at Las Guacas was a gastronomic delight, and breakfast at Tía Coco restaurant by the water was the perfect way to start our days. Watching the sunset from their rooftop bar isn't something to be missed!

Bioluminescence tour; Bath

Breakfast Tia Coco; Dinner Guacas
The resort has their very own private island, Isleta, which features a bar, pool, kayaks, SUP and plenty of lounges and is accessible by boat only. During our stay, we enjoyed many trips to Isleta, but we also enjoyed the serenity of the beach at the resort. The property offers many activities and tours, from cooking classes, to helicopter tours! We were stoked to experience learning how to make a traditional Arepa, their bioluminescent tour, mangrove tour and daily visits to their Observatory! Truly the trip of a lifetime!

Need to know
I highly recommend Las Islas Hotel to anyone looking to be connected with nature and relaxation in a serene environment, without compromising their love for comfort and luxury. This is the perfect location for families, couples and truly anyone looking to have an incredible time! It’s the perfect way to escape Cartagena’s busy streets and famous party scene. We visited Las Islas in June, and what a perfect summer destination!
