Site Inspection at the Frangipani Beach Resort, Anguilla
Curator’s statement

I must confess that I have mixed emotions about doing a site review on this resort. On the one hand, it is one of my favorite hotels and I know it will be a favorite for others as well. On the other hand, this is a bit of a well-kept secret and I don’t want my happy place to get so popular that I can no longer get a reservation. Truth is, I say this in jest because the secret is out. Frangipani Beach Resort is a 4+ star 24 room boutique resort on Meads Bay Beach that is anchored by the Four Season(s) on one end and the 5* Malliouhana Resort on the other end. Meads Bay is regularly voted one of the top beaches because of the super soft sand and clear blue water.

Of the 24 rooms at the Frangipani, one is a beach front 4-bedroom villa which offers a sense of privacy from the main resort, but with all the amenities. There are, three one-bedroom deluxe ocean view rooms that are newer and modern with large veranda on the second floor. The remaining rooms are in the main building and offer tremendous flexibility.  At the core, are seven, one-bedroom suites and one Jr. Suite complete with kitchen and laundry facilities. Four luxury ocean view rooms and eight one-bedroom standard garden rooms. These can be configured into two and three-bedroom suites. The suites and three deluxe one-bedroom rooms are very large and spacious. The resort is right on the beach with an infinity pool and lots of complimentary water sports including use of kayaks and paddle boards as well as a Hobbie Cat sailboat (our favorite). There is also a speed boat that can be used to go water skiing, wakeboarding or tubing.  The resort has all the amenities you would expect including a beach view fitness center, full service Spa, tennis court, bicycles to explore, room service and turn down service as well as complimentary transportation to nearby restaurants.

The restaurant onsite, the Straw Hat is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as beach and pool service. The menu is diverse for a multitude of tastes. Healthy options to decadent deserts.

This resort has a truly unique feel like you are staying with friends. They have a large loyal customer base that returns regularly. Our first time here was in 2021 and we have returned every year since and will return next year as well.

Frangipani is the perfect resort for guests looking for all the service of a 5* resort without any pretentiousness. Peak season is the Festive season, Dec 20 through Jan 5th and during that time, they have a 10 day minimum stay.  They also close during the peak Hurricane season in September and October.

Getting to Anguilla is now a bit easier as American Airlines now has flight service directly to the Island from MIA. Most people still travel via St. Martin and take a 20 minute water taxi to the island.
