The recent renovation has breathed new life into this expansive property, adding modern touches while maintaining its laid-back Hawaiian charm. The resort offers incredible views from its bars and lounges, with fun seating options like swing chairs that guests love. Families will enjoy the large pool area and expansive lawn, which provides plenty of room for kids to run and play. Best for: Families and those looking for spacious accommodations. The Fairmont is also perfect for those who love expansive balconies, offering lounge chairs and dining seating with plenty of space.
Tips: Don’t miss the daily koi pond feedings — kids will love interacting with the fish.
Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea
The Four Seasons Resort Maui is a classic example of the brand's signature luxury, offering a sophisticated and upscale vibe. Recently, the resort has gained even more attention due to its association with The White Lotus, which has only enhanced its appeal. The Four Seasons boasts 373 rooms, 76 of which are suites, with some offering stunning ocean views. It’s an ideal choice for couples looking for a refined, romantic getaway with impeccable service.
Dining options are world-class, including a brand new sushi bar in the lobby and Spago by Wolfgang Puck, both offering exceptional food with views of the Pacific. The resort also has three pools, including a peaceful adults-only pool. Although the property can feel a little busy during peak seasons, its compact size allows for a more intimate experience. For the ultimate VIP experience, book a room on the Club Floor, which offers four food presentations per day, a dedicated concierge and exclusive access to lounge spaces.
Best for: Four Seasons loyalists, White Lotus fans and couples seeking an intimate escape with unparalleled service.
Tips: If you’re traveling with teens, take advantage of the seasonal teen program, which offers off-property adventures and local learning experiences.
Grand Wailea, A Waldorf Astoria Resort
The Grand Wailea is the largest property in Wailea, covering 40 acres and offering 795 rooms spread across multiple towers. The resort recently underwent a $350 million renovation, including a complete revamp of the Kilolani Spa, which now spans 50,000 square feet and includes 40 treatment rooms. The resort also offers one of the most impressive pools in Maui — a 25,700-square-foot adventure pool area with waterslides, waterfalls, caves and even a Tarzan rope swing.
For those seeking more privacy, the Grand Wailea also offers three-bedroom, three-bath villas across the street, providing ample space and seclusion while still allowing full access to the resort’s amenities. Dining options are excellent, and soon, the renowned Nobu restaurant will be joining the resort's culinary offerings.
Best for: Those looking for an exceptional spa experience, families seeking adventure and anyone who wants the full luxury experience with plenty of space to spread out.
Tips: Wellness-focused guests should check out the resort’s 11 dedicated spa wellness rooms, perfect for elevating the relaxation factor of your stay.
Wailea Beach Resort - Marriott
The Marriott Wailea Beach Resort is the closest hotel to the water in Wailea, although it doesn't have its own beach. However, guests can take advantage of the beaches on both sides of the property, including one where Marriott provides beach chairs for a more relaxing beach experience. This resort is expansive and offers several dining options, including a Starbucks and pizza-to-go, perfect for a quick bite.
While the spa is smaller with only 12 rooms, it offers outdoor services in a spa cabana, giving guests the opportunity to enjoy treatments in the fresh air. The resort also features a cool arcade for kids and plenty of quiet nooks for guests to unwind. Morning yoga right by the water is a great way to start the day, offering a calming and scenic experience.
Best for: Families looking for fun and those seeking a more affordable option while still enjoying the luxury of Wailea.
Tips: For a special treat, splurge for access to the Okakino Pool, an adults-only wellness sanctuary. It’s $700 per couple, but there are often promotions available, so be sure to ask.

With stunning, multi-tiered infinity pools that offer breathtaking ocean views, it’s the ideal choice for pool lovers looking for a luxurious experience. The Andaz’s design is perfect for couples seeking a refined yet relaxed getaway. The resort offers exceptional dining, including Morimoto Maui, a Japanese restaurant with a beachfront setting that’s perfect for romantic dinners.
