Curator’s statement
Las Vegas will always be one of the most special places to me because it’s where I got married. From the bright lights and endless energy to the unexpected romantic moments tucked between all the excitement, it’s a city that truly has it all. Our wedding there was unforgettable—fun, spontaneous, and perfectly “us.” Vegas will always hold a piece of my heart as the place where forever began.

Las Vegas doesn’t have to be a shotgun wedding destination—it can be completely planned out and still be a beautiful, unforgettable ceremony. The city is full of unique wedding venues, from the iconic Little White Chapel to Denny’s, where you can literally say “I do” over pancakes. My favorite spot, though, and where I got married, was the Taco Bell Cantina. Taco Bell was amazing with planning my wedding—they wrote our vows filled with clever taco puns, provided the minister, and even included a taco package and cake to feed our guests. It was small, stress-free, and a total blast—perfect for couples who want to celebrate their love without all the traditional wedding stress or spotlight.

Vendors
Las Vegas also makes it incredibly easy to plan a beautiful wedding thanks to its wide range of talented vendors. From photographers to makeup artists, the city is full of creative professionals who know how to make your big day shine. With Vegas being such a performance-driven city, you can expect top-notch artistry—hairstylists and makeup artists who’ll have you looking like a movie star by the time you walk down the aisle.

And when it comes to photos, there’s no better backdrop than the Strip itself. Whether you want a glamorous city vibe or a romantic European feel, you can capture stunning “Paris” or “France”-themed photos right by the Eiffel Tower at Paris Las Vegas—no international flight required.

The party
When it comes to celebrating, Vegas truly knows how to keep the party going. Before our ceremony, we took a romantic gondola ride at The Venetian—the perfect way to get into the mood for our wedding. After the big day, we dove into the city’s lively nightlife, starting with a visit to Area 15 and the surreal Omega Mart for a little off-the-strip adventure. The bar scene is incredible for those late-night adventures, and our favorite stop was Coyote Ugly—a night we may or may not fully remember, but one we’ll never forget!

Vegas is the kind of place that gives you stories you’ll laugh about for years, and if you’re looking for a wedding destination that’s as fun and carefree as it is unforgettable, there’s truly nowhere else like it.

Need to know
Even though Las Vegas is one of the easiest and most popular places to get married, there are still a few important steps travelers need to know before saying “I do.” You’ll need to apply for a marriage license, which you can start online ahead of time to save time once you arrive. After that, you’ll visit the Clark County Marriage License Bureau, located at 201 East Clark Avenue, just off the Strip, to pick up your paperwork. Be prepared for a bit of a wait—there’s often a line, especially on weekends or around holidays—so plan extra time in your schedule or even an additional day before your ceremony to get everything in order.
The Bureau also offers a fun decorative marriage license, perfect for photo ops alongside your official one. Once you have your marriage packet, your officiant (usually provided by your venue) will complete and file it for you after the ceremony. You can even choose to get married right at the Bureau if you’re looking for something quick and simple! About two weeks after your wedding, your official license will be filed and emailed to you, and you can order a printed copy for a small fee.
If you’re planning a wedding in Vegas, it’s also worth noting that many chapels and venues can help you with all the logistics—from booking an officiant to filing paperwork—so your day goes smoothly. Most major hotels offer wedding packages as well, and it’s smart to call ahead for reservations since popular dates fill up fast. Whether you’re planning an extravagant celebration or a spontaneous elopement, a little preparation will make your Las Vegas wedding as seamless and magical as possible.
