A Weekend at JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort and Spa
Curator’s statement

During my recent getaway, I had the pleasure of spending three days at the JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort and Spa. As I drove into the resort, I was immediately captivated by the stunning adobe architecture and the charming Southwest decor. However, what truly took my breath away was the awe-inspiring sight of Camelback Mountain serving as a majestic backdrop. This, combined with the warm and intimate atmosphere of the resort, made for an unforgettable experience at the JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort and Spa.

The JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort and Spa is conveniently located just nine miles from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, making it easily accessible by car rental or car service. Situated on 125 acres of land, the resort offers 453 pueblo-style casitas and suites. Since there is no public transportation in the area, it is recommended to rent a car for convenience. One must not miss a visit to the nearby Fashion Square Mall and the luxury shops that Scottsdale has to offer. Upon arriving at the resort, I was immediately enchanted by its charming ambiance. The adobe buildings, adorned with American Southwest decor, seamlessly blended with the beautiful desert landscape. The hotel staff warmly welcomed me and guided me to the check-in area. The intimate lobby, with its wooden beam-adorned ceiling, instantly transported me to a tranquil oasis, despite being only minutes away from the bustling city surroundings.

In 2018, the property underwent a $12 million renovation, which added wonderful updates to the rooms. What I found most appealing about the resort was the unparalleled privacy it offered for a weekend retreat. When working with your travel advisor, guests have the freedom to choose the type of accommodations that best suit their needs. There are plenty of options available, including rooms with a full kitchen and a private pool. For those who prefer, parking is available directly in front of the casitas for easy access, or a staff member can escort guests there in a golf cart. The resort casita guest room where I stayed had a magnificent view of Camelback Mountain and provided ample living space for a group of four. The amenities and the room itself were perfect for my family, as we wanted to fully enjoy everything the resort had to offer and more.

The resort offers a wide range of activities and amenities. Golf enthusiasts can spend their weekend at the resort's two 18-hole golf courses and golf club. For those in need of relaxation, the full-service spa provides a perfect retreat from the daily grind. Guests looking for a more centered and calming experience can choose from activities such as restorative yoga with guitar or meditation with crystal bowls. Live entertainment is available most nights from 6-9 pm at Rita's Cantina. My family enjoyed the pool and cabanas during the day and indulged in activities such as making s'mores by the fire and stargazing at night or watching a movie poolside. From the food to the accommodations and experiences, I am eagerly looking forward to returning to this exceptional resort.
