Our Chattanooga getaway at Hotel Chalet at The Choo Choo honestly felt like stepping into a cozy little movie. The entire hotel has this perfectly curated vintage-meets-luxury atmosphere—warm lighting everywhere, rich textures, moody colors, tucked away seating areas, and the kind of design that makes you stop every five seconds to admire the details. It somehow feels both nostalgic and modern at the same time. The lobby had such an inviting feel with soft music, layered decor, and that relaxed energy that instantly makes you slow down. Outside, the courtyard spaces and train station surroundings made everything feel unique and memorable, especially at night when everything glowed under the lights. Even walking back to the room felt peaceful and aesthetic.
One of our favorite stops was Frothy Monkey—the perfect cozy coffee and brunch spot. It had such a welcoming atmosphere with amazing coffee, warm food, and that relaxed “slow morning” feeling. It was one of those places where you sit longer than planned just talking, people watching, and enjoying the vibe.
We also got little drawings/sketches done during the trip which made the whole experience feel even more personal and memorable. It was such a simple thing, but ended up being one of the sweetest keepsakes from the weekend—something that captured the moment in a way photos almost can’t.
The Photo Booth was another favorite part because it added that fun nostalgic energy to the trip. There’s just something about blurry little black-and-white photo strips and candid moments that makes a getaway feel so real and special. Those tiny snapshots ended up feeling like pieces of the whole experience—fun, imperfect, spontaneous, and full of memories.
The entire weekend felt centered around slowing down and enjoying the little moments—coffee runs, walking around downtown Chattanooga, cozy corners of the hotel, laughter, late-night conversations, and making memories out of simple things. It wasn’t just a hotel stay—it felt like an experience from beginning to end.
