Who is this for?

Perfectly located in the heart of Water Street Tampa, adjacent to the cruise port, and right across the street from Benchmark International Arena—the location of The Edition could not be more ideal for exploring downtown Tampa. Whether you're a family looking for a pre-cruise stay, a couple wanting a luxurious stay-cation, or a businessman on a work trip, this hotel caters to a luxury leisure traveler and has everything you could need.

The Punch Room (The chairs look like hearts!)

The property

The property is minimalist and inviting, simple but cozy. There are many EDITION brand-specific touches you can find throughout the property. Starting off with the design details and greenery in the lobby space, the iconic spiral staircase, white and tan color scheme, the throw blankets inspired by designer Ian Schrager's mom, and their proprietary scent from Le Labo—which might be my new favorite smell. It's in all the guest rooms in the lotion and wash products, and you can buy it in candles and other forms from the spa. It smells like the relaxation oasis of my dreams.

The property has 172 total rooms, three base suites, and one penthouse suite with a number of standard one-bedroom suites as well. Connecting rooms are available.

High season is mid-Jan-mid-May where rates are around $600–700+ nightly. Slow season is summer where rates can drop as low as $200–400.

Staff & service

The concierge and guest services team is amazing, with a unique agency client check-in process. If you book this property through me, via Virtuoso or preferred amenity rates, a dedicated team member will actually meet you at check-in, escort you through the process and to your room. The VIP welcome you deserve.

Facilities

  • Rooftop pool: Only for hotel guests, and cabanas available for an additional rental fee. Yoga is hosted on the rooftop some days, but is also available in the property’s gym (also only for hotel guests).

  • Lobby Bar: From Forbes Travel Guide, one of the top bars in the world, earning them StarBar recognition. An unsuspecting gem with a pool table!

  • Spa: Five treatment rooms and a nail salon space, complimentary wine and snacks with an appointment, men's and women's locker rooms, a lounge waiting area, and sauna and steam room available daily with or without an appointment for hotel guests.

The hotel also has an area on St. Pete Beach where guests can reserve a cabana and receive a discount on the rental. Five hours of usage with chairs, lounger, umbrella, and all you'd need for a beach day, including the transportation to and from the beach for $150–200.

Azure Rooftop Bar - al fresco dining

Food & beverage

The property features seven different eating and drinking outlets!

  • The Market Coffee Bar and The Market: Italian-inspired pastries and coffee bar, full restaurant and bar perfect for business lunches or a leisure meal (patio al fresco space available). Where you’ll constantly find people sharing a drink with their computers out!

  • Lilac: One Michelin Star, three years running, 50 seats, chefs table, tasting menu, and a la carte Mediterranean fare. I've eaten the tasting menu here and it is absolutely to die for. I think about the onion pull-apart bread and steak quite often.

  • Azure: Mediteranean-inspired cuisine in an indoor / outdoor setting on the rooftop. Adjacent to the pool bar, I've had cocktails here and they do not disappoint.

  • Pool Bar: Top-floor rooftop bar serving poolside drinks and snacks by day and cocktails to accompany the live music at night. The pool is not open to the public, but the bar is.

  • The Punch Room: The EDITION proprietary speakeasy bar with punch bowls and cocktails inspired by drinks from the locations they're based in. Here, they're inspired by Mexico, US, and Canada. Only eight total within this hotels collection and this location is the only one in the US. It is worth a visit to this hotel just to have some drinks here—perfect for a night out with friends or a romantic evening.

  • The Arts Club: A nightclub turned lounge and restaurant / bar. This space was originally designed as a nightclub, but the noise and crowds deterred hotel guests. It has since been converted into an upscale small-plates, Asian-fare-inspired lounge. The black room is for eating and drinking and lounging—that’s where you'll find the DJ. The yellow room/bar is just for drinking and socializing. The red room serves up all the disco vibes with a full disco ball ceiling; you can both eat and drink in this room as well.
