3 Resorts in Aruba for Family, Romance & Friends
Curator’s statement

Aruba is one of my favorite Caribbean islands. Easily accessible by plane, plenty to explore, and what seems to be an island-wide BOGO happy hour special – it’s easy to see why Aruba is known as “One Happy Island.” This guide highlights some of the best resorts in Aruba for trips with family, friends or your significant other.

The Romantic Vacation: Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort

This is the perfect resort in Aruba when you want to be all about your honey! You’ll experience intimate and luxury service at this adults-only resort, perfect for enjoying each other’s company or celebrating a relationship milestone. With only 104 boutique guest rooms and suites, you won’t feel overwhelmed by crowds. In fact, Bucuti & Tara does not allow group bookings to preserve the calm & tranquil atmosphere. Not only romantic, but award-winning. Bucuti & Tara won Tripadvisor’s #1 Best Hotel in the Caribbean award for 2023.

Guests here can enjoy the following free amenities: sunbeds and umbrella shades at the beach, daily breakfast buffet, self-serve laundry facilities, movies on the beach and a variety of wellness activities. Instead of providing all-inclusive dining, the resort offers a Dine Around package that allows guests to choose from dinner at the resort's restaurant or one of the other five local restaurants in the package.

With a smaller, boutique vibe, Bucuti & Tara’s Romance Concierge team can give the utmost attention to making sure your trip is amazing and perfectly tailored to your needs. The pre-arrival survey covers everything from arrival needs and transfers to the type of dining and activities you’re looking for each day. Some of the romantic activities include private beach palapa dinners, white-glove champagne service and chef-prepared beach picnics. Imagine working with a travel advisor like me to find this perfect resort and then having the Bucuti and Tara team take it up another notch during your entire stay!

The Family Vacation: Hyatt Regency Aruba Spa & Casino

When you’re looking for a resort in Aruba that can satisfy the entire family, look no further than Hyatt Regency Aruba. All of the rooms have been recently refreshed and connecting rooms are available to make sure the whole family stays together! The two-bedroom family suite gives parents and kids the opportunity to have their own spaces along with a balcony to overlook the resort. With nine restaurants and bars, there should be daily food options to satisfy even the pickiest eater of the group.

Younger children will enjoy Camp Hyatt Watapana, the kids club available at the resort. Parents can make reservations for full or half-day camp. Not only will your children be able to socialize with other kids their age, but they’ll participate in activities like scavenger hunts, puzzles and board games and a splashing good time at the pool. Snack, lunch or dinner is served depending on your child’s reservation time.

Teens will absolutely enjoy the freedom of not being at kids' camp and enjoying other activities. The resort boasts a three-level pool complex with a slide and waterfall. Reserve a family cabana to keep your teens in one place, relaxing at the beach and recreating the latest TikTok trending videos. They’ll also be able to participate in resort events like the scavenger hunt, water slide racing and learning about wildlife with the resort’s Wildlife Ambassadors.

And not to forget the adults of the family! The pool complex includes an adults-only pool with daybed rentals, if desired. Take your pick from onsite activities like cooking and mixology classes, tennis lessons, or the award-winning casino on the property. There are numerous wellness activities available, from yoga to energy healing and stretching classes, and the Zoia Spa offers the ultimate place to relax.

This Hyatt is a resort in Aruba that has it all! And to make it even more special, I can offer exclusive perks at this resort like breakfast for two, property credits & room upgrade and early check-in/late check-out, upon availability.

The Friendcation: Tamarjin Aruba All-Inclusive

All-inclusive resorts are a great way to please the whole friend group, and Tamarjin is one of the few all-inclusive resorts in Aruba. It’s the sister property of Divi Aruba All Inclusive that you’ll have access to, just a walk or shuttle away. However, you’ll be right on the beach at Tamarjin Aruba, and it’s the perfect place for a group of friends to get away, reunite and have fun. With 11 dining options, eight bars and four freshwater pools, there’s definitely an option for anyone in the group to be satisfied. Each room has oceanfront views with either a balcony or patio and there are double-queen room options that are perfect for sharing.

Whether you’re the beach lounger, the adventurous friend (hello, 30’ rock climbing wall on the beach!) or into wellness, the resort offers plenty of things to do for all activity levels and interests.
