Hotel Spotlight: The All-Inclusive, Adults-Only Warwick Paradise Island

Check-in & staff

Check-in was a breeze, and the staff throughout the resort were wonderful and very friendly. Guests are given a wristband that also serves as their room key, which is very convenient. Just be careful not to lose it, as there is a $150 replacement fee.

Rooms

The rooms are older but very clean and well maintained. The bathrooms are on the smaller side. There was a noticeable musty smell in some of the hallways, but thankfully we never noticed it inside our room.

Amenities provided include:

• Mini fridge

• Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash

• Two complimentary bottles of water in the room

Additional bottled water can be picked up from the front desk at any time.

Construction update

During our stay, construction was taking place on the balcony rooms overlooking the pool area. From what we could tell, all of these rooms appeared to be under construction, and we did not notice any guests staying in them. Some guests mentioned the construction noise during our stay. At times, it was noticeable, but it was never constant or disruptive for long periods. Personally, it did not bother us.

We heard from another guest that the project is expected to be completed around October 2026, although we were unable to confirm this directly with the resort.

If the noise does become bothersome, especially if you’re looking for a quiet place to relax or read a book, the lap pool area was noticeably quieter.

Pools & grounds

The pool area is very nice. There are two pools:

• A main pool near the outdoor bar where you can hear the DJ and enjoy more of a lively atmosphere (there is no swim-up bar).

• A quieter lap pool that seemed to be more of a relaxation area. We never actually saw anyone swimming laps, but many guests enjoyed cooling off there. The loungers by this pool are also more comfortable because they include cushions.

Finding chairs around the pool was fairly easy. Before about 10 a.m., there were plenty of available loungers. After that, chairs became more of a “come and go” situation, but we never felt that it was impossible to find somewhere to sit.

The beach area is fairly small since the resort sits on the harbor side of Paradise Island. There is a designated swimming area blocked off from the boat traffic, as there are many boats passing by throughout the day.

The resort also offers several outdoor activities, including:

• Beach volleyball

• Cornhole

• Giant chess

• Outdoor pool table

There are also plenty of comfortable seating areas around the property.

Mermaid’s Lookout

One of our favorite spots on the property was Mermaid’s Lookout, a beautiful veranda area located out over the bay. It was a great place to sit, relax, and watch the boats go by. We also noticed several guests fishing from this area, so if you enjoy fishing, this would be a nice spot to spend some time.

Restaurants

The resort has several dining options, with three restaurants requiring reservations and the buffet being available daily. Dinner reservation times are typically 6 p.m., 7:30 p.m., and 9 p.m. Not every restaurant is open every night. The schedule is posted around the resort and also on the resort’s Facebook page. When you first arrive, you can only make reservations for your first two evenings. After using one reservation, you must return to make additional reservations.

• Abbiocco (Italian)
  Before arriving, many of the reviews we read described Abbiocco as the best restaurant on the property.
  The antipasto station was excellent, offering salads, meats, cheeses, and other appetizers. The bread was amazing—we ate every piece that was brought to the table. Unfortunately, the entrees didn’t quite live up to the appetizers for us. I ordered the tortellini with Alfredo sauce, and my spouse ordered spaghetti with marinara sauce. Neither dish was bad or inedible, but they simply weren’t our favorites.

• Tings on a Stick
  We were a little concerned going into this restaurant because of some negative reviews we had read beforehand, but we ended up being pleasantly surprised. I ordered the pepper steak with jasmine rice, which was very good. My spouse ordered the spicy shrimp with fried rice and really enjoyed it. I even tried the shrimp and didn’t find it overly spicy (and I am usually a wimp when it comes to spicy food!).
  The fried rice itself was just okay for me, but overall this ended up being our favorite dinner of the trip.

• Edgewater Grill
  Unfortunately, we never got the opportunity to dine here. By the time we attempted to make reservations later in our stay, the only available reservation was at 9 p.m. This restaurant specializes in steak and seafood. Reviews we had read mentioned slimy scallops and less-than-stellar steaks, but we were still interested in trying it for ourselves.

• Buffet
  Many reviews rave about the buffet food, but personally, nothing ever completely wowed us. That being said, there were always plenty of choices, and everything we tried was perfectly edible. I have stayed at resorts where the food was so bad I survived on bread and butter—this was absolutely not one of those situations. The buffet was also never crowded during our stay.
  
  Dinner offerings typically included:

• Carving station

• Multiple hot entrees

• Soup station

• Large salad bar

• Large dessert selection
  
  Breakfast options included:

• Pancakes

• French toast

• Regular and sugar-free syrup

• Potatoes

• Bacon and sausage

• Beans

• Breakfast burritos (one morning)

• Toast, bagels, muffins, and pastries

• Oatmeal and grits

• Fresh fruit

• I never noticed cereal available during our stay.

• Chickcharnie’s
  Chickcharnie’s is the resort’s casual snack restaurant and is open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  They serve burgers, pizza, wings, fries, and a chips and dip trio. The pizza was surprisingly good and reminded us of a Tony’s frozen pizza (in a good way!). The chips and dip trio was also enjoyable. The salsa had a picante flavor, the cheese dip tasted similar to concession stand nacho cheese, and the guacamole tasted more like a prepared guacamole rather than homemade. The wings and fries were both very good.

• Drinks
  The drinks were very good overall. We mainly stuck to mixed drinks during our stay. The mimosas were a definite highlight and easily a 10/10. We also tried several fruity cocktails, and all of them were enjoyable.
  There was a server who walked around the pool taking drink orders, although he never stopped to ask us if we wanted anything. We did notice him bringing drinks to other guests, so perhaps it was because our chairs were located close to the bar.

Entertainment & activities

We were pretty worn out from our days exploring, so we didn’t participate in many of the nightly activities.
However, we did get to watch the Junkanoo Parade, and it was very entertaining and definitely worth seeing. There was also live music in the lobby area every evening, and every singer we heard was very good.

The bar near check-in serves as the resort’s sports bar and always had sporting events on TV. The FIFA World Cup was taking place during our stay, and there were lots of guests gathered watching the matches. They even had games playing on the big screen in the multipurpose room behind the bar.

We heard great things about the Sip & Paint activity, but unfortunately didn’t get a chance to participate. Reservations are required.

The resort also offered:

• Rum tastings

• Dance classes

• Dizzy bat challenges

• Sand volleyball

Participation seemed somewhat limited during our stay, although there was a group of younger guests that regularly played volleyball.

For guests who smoke, the resort does have designated smoking areas throughout the property.

Gift shop

We ended up needing a few items from the gift shop during our stay and found the prices to be surprisingly reasonable. We purchased individual packs of Advil and Tylenol, and they were less than $1 each for a two-pill pack. There was no additional tax, so it was as simple as handing them $1 and being done. We also purchased a souvenir magnet for $5, which seemed fairly priced compared to many resort gift shops. The only item that stood out as expensive was sunscreen, which is pretty common at most resorts and tourist destinations.

Atmosphere & crowd

Warwick Paradise Island is an adults-only, all-inclusive resort. The atmosphere is best suited for:

• Couples

• Older adults

• Guests looking for a more relaxed vacation

This is not a huge party resort, but there were certainly plenty of people enjoying drinks and having a good time. There was a wide range of ages staying at the resort. We saw a couple of younger groups, likely around ages 18–25, but the majority of guests appeared to be couples in their 40s and 50s.

Would we stay again?

Yes, we would absolutely stay here again. However, on our next trip to Nassau, we would probably choose a different location simply to experience something new. We’d love to stay closer to the cruise port and Señor Frog’s area, try a resort located directly on Cabbage Beach, or possibly experience somewhere like Atlantis or Baha Mar. The newer Goldwynn resort also looks interesting.

Final thoughts

If you are looking for:

• An adults-only resort

• A relaxing atmosphere

• Friendly staff

• Good drinks

• Easy access to Cabbage Beach

• A solid value in Nassau

Then Warwick Paradise Island is definitely worth considering. If you’re looking for an all-day party atmosphere, a large beach, or a luxury resort experience, you may prefer somewhere like Atlantis, Baha Mar, Riu, or another beachfront property.

Free shuttle to Cabbage Beach

The resort offers a complimentary shuttle to Cabbage Beach beginning at 10 a.m., with departures every 30 minutes. We visited on a Friday, which happened to be Bahamian Independence Day, so I’m not sure if the beach was busier than normal. We arrived right at 10 a.m. and absolutely loved it. By around 1 p.m., however, it had become a little too crowded for our liking. There are many vendors on the beach, so definitely bring cash.

Current pricing we encountered:

• Chairs: $15 each

• Umbrella: $30

We negotiated and paid $50 total for two chairs and an umbrella.

You will immediately be approached by vendors selling drinks, excursions, jewelry, and other items. Everyone was friendly, and simply asking them to come back later worked well.

One highlight of the trip was buying a pineapple drink from a vendor named Rodney. It cost $30 but included two free refills and was honestly worth it. The pineapple itself was incredibly fresh and probably the best pineapple I’ve ever had.

Other vendors were selling:

• Chips, water, and soft drinks

• Jet ski rentals

• Banana boat rides

• Handmade bracelets and souvenirs
