From the moment I checked into Delamar Greenwich Harbor, I felt transported to a different pace of life—one defined by calm waters, coastal air, and understated luxury. Just a short train ride from Manhattan, the Delamar offers the kind of escape that feels effortlessly indulgent without ever trying too hard. The moment you walk through the doors, there’s an immediate sense of quiet elegance—from the nautical-inspired interiors to the warm, attentive service that feels genuinely personal.

Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted with a thoughtful welcome gift.

My room had a harbor-facing terrace, which quickly became my favorite spot for slow mornings with coffee and golden-hour sunsets. The decor struck that classic New England balance: refined yet cozy, with thoughtful details like plush linens, marble bathrooms, and fresh flowers that made the space feel like more than just a hotel room—it felt like a retreat. Throughout my stay, the hotel maintained a peaceful, unhurried energy that made it easy to unwind.

What really stood out was the hotel’s ideal location—just steps from Greenwich Avenue, where I spent time exploring charming boutiques, art galleries, and some excellent dining spots. Back at the hotel, L’Escale, the on-site restaurant, delivered consistently—from long, relaxed brunches to intimate dinners on the waterfront patio. The menu leaned Mediterranean with a French flair, and everything felt both elegant and approachable.

Need to know

  • Best time to visit: Greenwich is beautiful year-round, but spring and early fall are especially ideal, with mild temperatures and vibrant coastal scenery. Summer is perfect for enjoying the harbor and outdoor dining, while The Delamar offers a quieter, cozy experience—think fireside meals and crisp walks by the water.

  • Getting around: The Delamar is just a short walk from Greenwich Avenue, the town’s main street filled with shops, cafés, and galleries. The hotel offers complimentary valet parking, and it’s easy to explore the area on foot. If you’re coming from New York City, the Metro-North train station is within walking distance.

  • The Delamar is a destination in itself, lined with upscale boutiques, coffee shops, and art galleries. Be sure to check out the Bruce Museum or take a walk along the waterfront parks nearby. Dining options beyond the hotel include Le Penguin, a cozy French bistro, and Mediterraneo for fresh, coastal Italian fare. Don’t miss a stop at Coffee for Good, a charming café with a social mission and excellent coffee.

  • Packing tips: Pack layers—mornings and evenings by the water can be cool, even in warmer months. If you’re planning a spa treatment or boating activity (available seasonally nearby), bring resort-style casual wear and comfortable walking shoes. A light jacket or wrap is ideal for waterfront dinners or evening strolls by the Delamar harbor.

  • Who this trip is for: Delamar Greenwich Harbor is perfect for couples, solo travelers, or small groups looking for a relaxing, upscale getaway with easy access to nature, shopping, and dining. It’s especially suited for New Yorkers seeking a luxurious weekend retreat without the hassle of long travel. With its calm atmosphere, beautiful views, and elevated service, it’s also a great option for special occasions like anniversaries or low-key celebrations.

Whether you're here for rest, romance, or a refined change of pace, Delamar Greenwich Harbor delivers a thoughtful, luxurious experience that feels like a well-kept secret on the Connecticut coast.
