Curator’s statement
Heythrop Park Hotel is the kind of place that immediately makes you slow down. The grounds, manor house, and countryside setting are even more impressive in person than they appear in photos, creating a true English countryside escape. I loved that it felt completely removed from everyday life while still being just a short drive from charming Cotswold villages, excellent restaurants, and local pubs. It's the perfect blend of luxury, relaxation, and classic British charm.

Nestled in the heart of the Cotswolds, Heythrop Park Hotel offers everything travelers picture when they imagine an English countryside retreat. The historic manor is beautifully restored, with elegant interiors, expansive gardens, and peaceful walking paths that make you want to linger a little longer. Whether you're visiting for a romantic getaway, a girls' weekend, or simply looking to unwind, the property strikes a wonderful balance between luxury and comfort.

Heythrop Park Hotel offers an unforgettable English countryside escape, combining a beautifully restored historic manor, peaceful gardens, and luxury amenities with easy access to the charming villages of the Cotswolds.
One of my favorite aspects of staying here was that you didn't have to leave the property if you didn't want to. There are multiple restaurants and bars, live music, evening entertainment, and plenty of activities, creating a lively atmosphere without ever feeling crowded. The spa is the perfect place to slow down after a day of exploring, and the grounds invite long walks with beautiful views in every direction. The golf course is magnificent and not to be missed.

That said, the location also makes it an ideal base for discovering the Cotswolds. Within five to ten minutes, you'll find excellent country pubs and restaurants, while some of England's most picturesque villages are just a short drive away. Towns like Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water, Burford, and Chipping Norton make easy day trips, allowing you to experience quaint stone cottages, independent shops, tea rooms, and local markets before returning to the tranquility of the estate.

I would recommend Heythrop Park to couples celebrating a special occasion, travelers seeking a luxury countryside escape, or anyone looking to experience the Cotswolds without constantly changing hotels. It offers the best of both worlds: a destination resort with enough amenities to keep you entertained, and an ideal location for exploring one of England's most beautiful regions.

Adults-only property, making it an excellent choice for couples, anniversaries, and relaxing weekends.
Having a rental car is highly recommended to fully explore the nearby Cotswolds villages and countryside. The property can also hire a taxi when needed.
Book dinner reservations in advance, particularly on weekends, as the on-site restaurants can fill quickly.
Plan at least two or three nights to enjoy both the resort amenities and nearby villages without feeling rushed.
The property is large, so comfortable walking shoes are helpful for exploring the grounds. Take the time to wander the estate. Some of the best moments come from enjoying the gardens, architecture, and peaceful countryside setting.
If you're visiting during warmer months, enjoy an evening drink outdoors while taking in the views of the estate. It perfectly captures the relaxed pace of the English countryside.
