Site Inspection at Sandals Royal Bahamian

The resort is divided into two main towers: East Bay and West Bay, each offering distinct atmospheres and accommodations. Additionally, the Island Village rooms provide a more private, secluded experience, though they are set farther from the main activity areas.

During my site inspection, I had the opportunity to tour a variety of room categories. Guests can choose from a range of options based on location (building and floor), view type—including ocean, pool, or tropical zen garden views—and balcony availability. Club Level rooms come with enhanced amenities such as concierge services, priority dinner reservations, and room service starting as early as 7 am. For those seeking a higher level of personalized service, Butler Elite rooms are also available, which come with a dedicated butler who can assist with everything from reserving pool or beach chairs—complete with a stocked cooler of drinks—to making all of your dining arrangements.

With 10 restaurants and two food trucks, there is something for every palate. While I didn’t have the chance to try them all, the ones I did sample were good. Soy, in particular, stood out with its fresh and flavorful sushi.

During the day, the entertainment team kept guests engaged with activities like games, water aerobics, and more. While frequent rain throughout my stay caused some events to be moved indoors, the scheduled evening entertainment was sometimes adjusted. One highlight was a fun silent disco night, which brought great energy. In the evenings, guests also enjoyed live music and sing-alongs at the Piano Bar, and many gathered at the Queen’s Pearl Pub for a relaxed, social atmosphere.

The resort has two pools, each offering a different vibe to suit your mood. The East Bay pool is the quieter of the two—perfect for relaxation and unwinding in a peaceful setting. On the other hand, the main pool near the West Bay building is the main pool of the resort, with lively music, activities, and entertainment throughout the day.

For those looking to stay active or unwind, Sandals Royal Bahamian offers a well-rounded wellness experience. The Red Lane Spa features a wide range of treatments, perfect for relaxation and self-care. If fitness is part of your routine, the resort’s modern gym is a standout, offering beautiful views. In addition to a variety of included water sports like kayaking and paddle boarding, the resort also offers tennis and pickleball courts on property.

The property is unique in that it has its own private island (Barefoot Cay), which has another pool and features a restaurant. The ferry runs every hour starting at 10 am, with the last one returning at 4:50 pm. Due to weather, I wasn't able to visit the island during my stay.

Sandals hosts a lot of weddings. They recently built an over-the-water chapel that is a beautiful spot to host a wedding ceremony. If you're interested in doing a destination wedding, I would love to help!

Overall, Sandals Royal Bahamian is a well-maintained property that offers the perfect setting for a relaxing, adults-only escape. Whether you're celebrating a honeymoon, enjoying a romantic retreat, or simply looking for a peaceful getaway with upscale amenities, this resort delivers a blend of comfort and island charm.
