Curator’s statement
As a travel advisor who loves finding the sweet spot between relaxation and real experiences, this mother-daughter long weekend delivered on every level. Yacht Club on MSC Seaside is my go-to recommendation for clients who are cruise-curious but want something that feels more intimate and refined—the “ship within a ship” experience is genuinely different. Pairing the cruise with a pre-stay at JW Marriott Turnberry and a post-cruise day room at Gale South Beach turned what could have been a basic long weekend into something that felt thoughtfully designed from start to finish.

We kicked off our long weekend with a night at JW Marriott Turnberry before heading to PortMiami—a perfect way to ease into vacation mode with beautiful grounds, polished service, and a seamless transfer to the ship.
MSC Seaside
Once onboard MSC Seaside, Yacht Club transformed what could have been a quick, forgettable sailing into something that felt genuinely elevated. The private restaurant, dedicated concierge team, reserved show seating, complimentary thermal spa access, and intimate pool deck created a calm, refined haven that made the energy of the larger ship completely irrelevant.
Let me be clear—MSC Seaside is a big, busy ship with an expansive casino, sprawling shopping promenade, water park, zip line, and multiple entertainment venues. It’s lively and there’s a lot going on, but Yacht Club is truly a ship within a ship, and once you settle in, that contrast actually works in your favor.
Our YC1 Yacht Club Deluxe Suite on Deck 16 was perfectly designed for the two of us with twin beds, a sitting area with a couch and table, a generous bathroom with lovely finishes, and a nice balcony, all with more than enough storage and space for a mother and adult daughter to share comfortably without ever feeling on top of each other.

Yacht Club dining
Dining in Yacht Club was one of the things I appreciated most about this sailing—there is genuinely no shortage of options. Yacht Club guests have access to a private restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, plus poolside food service throughout the day. The private restaurant was consistently excellent with no reservations needed, making every meal feel relaxed and uncomplicated. We ventured out one evening to the sushi specialty restaurant, which was absolutely worth the additional cost. And for anyone wondering about the logistics, the Yacht Club concierge team handles all specialty dining reservations for you once you’re onboard, so there’s no pre-planning stress involved. Just tell them what you’re in the mood for and they take care of it.
When we wanted to truly unwind, the thermal spa area, complimentary for Yacht Club guests, was a beautiful retreat with steam rooms, a variety of saunas, a polar room, and a dedicated relaxation area that made it easy to lose an hour or two without even trying.
Entertainment
The entertainment onboard genuinely impressed me more than I expected for a three-night sailing. The theater shows were a cut above what I’ve seen on other ships, with high-quality productions featuring singing, dancing, and gymnastics that felt more like a performance you’d seek out than something you’d stumble into on a cruise. As Yacht Club guests, we had reserved seating, which meant no scrambling for spots or arriving early to stake out a good view.
Beyond the theater, the ship had live music, lively bars and lounges, and a daily program that kept things well-organized and easy to navigate.

For the kids, MSC Seaside also has an indoor water park complete with slides and a zip line that had people of all ages lining up throughout the sailing. For families traveling with kids, MSC also runs an impressive youth program with age-organized clubs for infants through teens.

In port
It’s hard to pick a highlight of this sailing—between the Yacht Club experience itself and our time in port, every part of the trip delivered in its own way.
Yacht Club’s priority on and off the ship at every port made a noticeable difference. In Nassau, our concierge personally walked us off the ship and handed us directly to our private guide, Kensly Joseph of NEIT Adventures, for a rich private historical tour that included Fort Charlotte, the National Museum of The Bahamas, Doongalik Studios, and the National Art Gallery—a far more meaningful experience than a typical cruise port beach stop, and one I’d recommend to anyone who wants to actually know a place rather than just pass through it.

Exploring Nassau one splash of color at a time
Ocean Cay, MSC’s private island, was the perfect follow-up: gorgeous calm water, complimentary lounge chairs and umbrellas, beachside drink service, and a beautifully relaxed day that felt like a natural exhale after Nassau.

Final day at Gale South Beach
After disembarkation, a day room at Gale South Beach, replete with rooftop pool, showers, luggage storage, was the ideal way to close out the trip before heading to the Miami airport. For anyone cruise-curious but hesitant about crowds, Yacht Club is genuinely the answer, and this long weekend format proves you don’t need a full week of vacation time to do it right.

Need to know
Yacht Club is a premium add-on: it comes at a higher price point than standard MSC cabins, but for the experience you get, I think it’s genuinely worth it, especially on a short sailing where you want every moment to feel elevated.
MSC Seaside sails from PortMiami. It’s easy to pair with a pre- or post-cruise hotel stay in Miami, which I highly recommend rather than rushing to or from the port.
Thermal spa access is complimentary for Yacht Club guests, but massage and treatment appointments are separate and worth booking in advance.
Specialty dining is handled for you. One of the perks of being in Yacht Club is that your concierge team will take care of booking your specialty restaurant reservations onboard.
Private tours and excursions can book up early. If you want a private guide in Nassau like we had with Kensly, don’t wait. Reach out to me before your trip so we can get that arranged well in advance. It made a huge difference in how we experienced the port.
Day room strategy is underrated. If you have an afternoon or evening flight home, booking a day room near the port is one of the best quality-of-life upgrades you can make. Don’t skip it.
MSC Seaside is a large ship—if you’re someone who gets overwhelmed by crowds or a busy atmosphere, Yacht Club is your answer. I personally prefer a smaller experience, but this was the best of both worlds.
This itinerary works beautifully as a long weekend—Thursday departure through Monday return makes this very doable without burning a full week of vacation time.
