When I noticed a sweet fare on Allure for their suites on this mid-September sailing, I jumped on it. Before that, I had never really paid attention to suites when booking our cruises—I would always just search for those regular staterooms that hold five, which tend to be in limited supply. This four-night sailing to Perfect Day at CocoCay was just the getaway my family needed at the time.
Two-bedroom AquaTheater Suite living room
With this two-bedroom AquaTheater Suite, I quickly discovered that it came with a most intriguing perk—a Royal Genie! I dove deep into research on all things Star Class, and it made planning our cruise even more exciting. The best part is that my hubby and I decided to keep it a surprise from the kids. How we did this for all those months leading up to the cruise is beyond me. When we first met our Royal Genie, Dexter, in the port terminal, our kids’ faces were confused—no one had ever personally escorted us onto a cruise ship before—but it was really worth it to see their shocked faces when we walked into the beautiful suite.
Snacks sent daily to the suite
This eight-person-capacity suite has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, and, of course, the balcony. Let’s talk about the amazing balcony! This was easily my favorite feature of the suite. There was a dining table, several chairs, and bar stools, and the balcony wrapped around, so there was a beautiful ocean view on one side and the fun AquaTheater on the other.

Right from the balcony, you could watch the AquaTheater shows at night, and see the performers practicing during the day. This incredible water show includes high diving, acrobatics, and synchronized swimming. We had a great view, and it was wonderful to be able to enjoy the show from the comfort of your own room, and not be in the crowds down below. We arranged to have snacks and beverages delivered to the room before the show, and of course Dexter always hooked it up. Dexter literally was the best! He was chill, funny, and got along so well with our kids. We loved having him as our Genie, and if you get him as yours, your trip will be amazing.

Royal Genies are the best at surprises! If you are celebrating a birthday, anniversary, or milestone, look out for a fabulous celebration. Note they can be full of fun surprises even without a specific celebration. Ice cream party in your suite, sushi dinner spread on your balcony, private access tour of the kitchen or the Captain's bridge…Royal Genies can really make your cruise extra special!
