Nikki Navigates: The Fairmont Princess Scottsdale

My origin story for my love of travel began at an early age, when every summer, our family vacation was to go to Scottsdale to visit my family that relocated there from New Jersey before I was born. I fell in love with the anticipation, the airport experience, and the adrenaline rush that came with the journey.

I had another visit scheduled to visit my cousins this past week. But before that, I had the opportunity to spend a few days at a very special resort in Scottsdale: The Fairmont Princess.

At this luxurious and expansive resort, located in the elegant North Scottsdale, you completely forget that there’s even a world outside of it. At every turn, there’s beautiful fauna, endemic architecture, and a pool to splash into. Seriously…six of them (two of which are adults only). Among all of the pools spread about the property, I decided to base myself at the main Princess Pool to enjoy the convivial atmosphere and deliciously crispy Diet Cokes. Another incredible touch at all pools was the offering of sunscreen and even aloe available at your convenience.

I stayed in the Privado Villas, a residential-style concept with its own dedicated lobby and concierge, an exclusive pool, and dedicated snack offerings that aren’t available anywhere else on the property. Weaving through the paths and casitas felt like I was in a southwestern fairytale village, almost as if I was staying somewhere completely different. My room’s balcony was a delightful treat to walk onto each morning with the glow of the sunrise against the McDowell mountain range, reminding me of the beauty of slowing down.

But it’s not just the grounds, the four restaurants, and the spa that make the Fairmont Princess special. It’s truly the service and the people. I was warmly and politely welcomed at the lobby driveway, which sets the tone for me, and Sales Manager Erin took the words right out of my mouth when she toured me around the property, noting that the first impression when guests arrive is of the utmost importance to set their experience off on the right foot.
