Disney's Newest Resort: The Island Tower at the Polynesian
Curator’s statement

As lifelong Disney fans and Disney Vacation Club members, my husband and I couldn't wait to experience Disney’s newest gem — The Island Tower at the Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. Stepping into the lobby you are greeted with an "Aloha" and given your welcome lei; this is when the Disney magic begins. With lush landscaping, vibrant florals and that signature Polynesian flair, this resort instantly feels like a dreamy escape to the islands!

Disney = Home!

Island Tower

The Island Tower is part of the Disney Vacation Club collection, however, you don’t need to be a DVC member to stay here. What makes these accommodations truly special is the comfort and convenience they offer — designed to feel like a home away from home. Studio units include kitchenettes stocked with dishes, silverware, a mini fridge, coffee maker, toaster and even a mini dishwasher. For those looking for more space, the one- and two-bedroom villas come loaded with full kitchens, including ovens, cooktops, dedicated dining areas and in-room washer/dryers—perfect for longer stays or families looking for flexibility and ease.

With the addition of Island Tower, the Polynesian resort experience just got even more magical. Unwind by the tranquil Cove Pool, soak in the hot tub or let the kids make a splash at the Moana-themed water play area, Moana’s Voyage. Keep your fitness routine on track at the fully equipped gym, and savor island-inspired cuisine at Wailulu Bar & Grill, offering both indoor and al fresco dining with a front-row seat to the dazzling nighttime fireworks.

Located inside the Island Tower are Terrace Gardens showcasing artwork, foliage and seating areas for guests’ enjoyment. The terraces on even numbered floors offer views of Disney’s golf course while the odd numbered floors overlook Seven Sea Lagoon. From here, guests can enjoy a spectacular — and less crowded — perspective of the nightly fireworks, complete with music making for a truly magical end to the day.

You simply can’t beat the location of this deluxe Disney resort. Getting to the magic is effortless, whether you hop on the monorail or enjoy a scenic boat ride across Seven Seas Lagoon straight to Magic Kingdom. Heading to EPCOT? A quick stroll takes you to the Ticket and Transportation Center, where you can board a direct monorail line. For everything else — Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, water parks and Disney Springs — complimentary bus transportation is readily available. Prefer to drive yourself? Disney Resort guests enjoy free parking at all theme parks, making it easy to explore at your own pace.
