Luxury Stay in the Val di Noto
Curator’s statement

An immaculate Relais & Chateaux property overlooking fruit and olive groves outside of Noto, Sicily, this hotel is truly special—luxurious, modern, well-appointed accommodations set in the Val di Noto with an over-the-top restaurant and unbelievable service. This is the ultimate destination for couples in southeastern Sicily and one that is not to miss, especially for those willing to splurge.

One of two Relais & Chateaux properties in Sicily, the Il San Corrado di Noto is a spectacular property outside of Noto. Once a farm and summer home to Prince Nicolaci, this hotel is a peaceful retreat surrounded by citrus and olive groves. Our days were spent exploring southeastern Sicily, and our afternoons were spent relaxing by the pool. No detail goes unnoticed and service is beyond perfect at this hotel.

Rooms are well appointed—even the entry-level rooms. However, our junior suite was an oasis of tranquility with a giant king bed, large sitting area, large walk-in closet, large bathroom with separate toilet room, and two patios—one covered patio with loungers and a dining table facing the Green Pool, and a more private rear patio with loungers facing the countryside.

Rooms face either the large Green Pool or the 100-meter Blue Pool. There's an onsite gym and spa, grass tennis court, charming boutique, game room and bar, as well as two restaurants—a fine dining establishment and a more casual pizza and pasta joint at one corner of the Green Pool. The hotel has a beach club at Lido di Noto, which has beautiful white sand beaches and crystal blue water, just a short 15-minute car ride from the hotel (shuttle service is included in the rate and must be pre-booked).

The hotel has a variety of activities that can be organized, from a trip to nearby Noto (about 10 minutes away) to trips to further afield places such as Taormina (two hours), Catania (an hour), Syracusa and Ortiga (40 minutes) or Modica (35 minutes). Hotel cars are available for rent for either an afternoon or full day for those wanting to drive themselves around the area. There are also cooking classes, chocolate tastings (Modica), and boat excursions, among a multitude of other activities that can be organized by the hotel (all for a fee).

We stayed at this property for three nights and my only regret is that we were not there longer to relax, take in the views, and enjoy all this property has to offer.

Need to know

This property is a mature property and better suited for adults and couples. It is not a place for anyone who is price conscious—especially if you plan to eat onsite.
