Hotel B Barranco: Lima's Most Charming Boutique Stay
Curator’s statement

Tucked into Lima's bohemian Barranco neighborhood, Hotel B is the kind of place that reminds you why boutique hotels exist. This Belle Époque mansion was lovingly restored by a group of local friends who filled it with character, charm, and their own carefully curated art collection. My standout moment was a cocktail-making class with the friendliest bartender in Lima, who shared the secret to crafting the perfect Pisco sour.

Each room at Hotel B tells its own story. The restoration strikes that delicate balance of honoring the building's historical architecture while incorporating modern comfort in ways that feel effortless rather than forced. What elevates the experience beyond beautiful design is how the hotel functions as an intimate gallery, with original artworks thoughtfully integrated throughout the property.

While on property, you'll enjoy exceptional cuisine served in intimate spaces like The Patio, a peaceful retreat from the city's hustle and bustle, or the rooftop lounge. The cocktail-making class is a highlight—you'll prepare three cocktails, each paired with tapas that complement the drink's flavor profile.

Lima is the beating heart of Peru and home to the country's main international airport, making it where most travelers naturally begin or end their journey. Barranco is a creative hub—a neighborhood of colorful colonial mansions, street art, and exciting food and cocktails. Hotel B puts you right in the center of it all. You can stroll down Bajada de Baños to discover vibrant street murals by artists like Jade Rivera or visit the intimate Pedro de Osma Museum. The neighborhood dining scene is exceptional. Head over to Cyclos Café for coffee tasting and make a reservation at Isolina, where you'll dine alongside locals enjoying classic Peruvian cuisine. For cocktails, visit Lady Bee.

This boutique hotel is the perfect choice for couples, design enthusiasts, and food lovers who appreciate an intimate, well-curated, and thoughtful stay. Here, you'll enjoy personalized service in one of Lima's most eclectic neighborhoods.

Need to know

Contact me to book this and other stays in Peru, and I'll share not only my favorite hotels but also personalized recommendations for where to go and what to do in one of my favorite countries. You can easily spend two weeks eating your way through Lima, but in addition to Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley, Arequipa, the Colca Canyon, and the Amazon are also worth a visit.
