Curator’s statement
This was my first time staying at an adults-only luxury resort and it completely blew me away. The service, attention to detail, incredible cuisine, entertainment, and endless amenities were just part of what made it unforgettable. It took us days just to explore everything the resort had to offer. I celebrated my birthday during our stay, and the staff went above and beyond to make me feel celebrated and make the day truly memorable. On top of all that, staying at Hotel Xcaret Arte gave us access to all seven of the parks with transportation included. We took full advantage and had an absolute adventure!

Starting off this trip was incredibly smooth thanks to the included roundtrip airport transportation. Before arrival, we received clear instructions about where to find the staff after customs. Once we met them, we were guided to our transportation and taken straight to the resort. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with treats and a cold towel, which felt amazing after traveling. Check-in was quick and easy, and our luggage was brought to our room shortly after we arrived.

River view from the area where you can kayak and paddle board
Our room was the most spacious I’ve ever stayed in. It featured a large soaking tub, a rainfall shower, excellent air conditioning (which was much needed in July), plenty of high-end toiletries, a fully stocked mini fridge, and a large balcony with a hammock overlooking the pool. It was beautifully designed and incredibly comfortable.

View from outside our room on the walkway to the pool
Over the next few days, we explored all the property had to offer. We visited the rooftop pools, paddled through the cenote rivers on kayaks and paddleboards, and found hidden alcoves where we could stop for a drink, relax in a hammock, or go down waterslides. The resort also offers hands-on classes including cooking, pottery, and dance. Since we stayed on the Arte side, we also had access to the entire Xcaret Mexico property. That section of the resort is family-friendly and full of additional restaurants, pools, and scenic spots to discover.

The speakeasy El Deseo
What truly made this resort feel luxurious were the small, thoughtful touches. While lounging by the pool, someone would come by to clean your sunglasses. Another staff member would offer a tray of different types of sunscreen or hand you a cool towel. Food carts throughout the property served rotating snacks like fresh fruit with tajín, gelato, and more. These little moments made a big impression.

Quesadilla station in Mercado San Juan
The dining experience across the resort was consistently impressive. Before arrival, we were asked to submit our dining preferences and times. As a result, we were able to get all our top-choice reservations. For walk-in restaurants, the wait was usually no more than five minutes. Our favorite was Tah-Xido, a creative blend of Japanese and Mexican cuisine. We were also blown away by Mercado San Juan, which felt more like a gourmet market than a buffet. There was a room dedicated to handmade quesadillas and another where tortillas were pressed fresh to order.

Mercado San Juan buffet
Room service was another highlight. Unlike many resorts where it costs extra or lacks quality, the room service here was complimentary and genuinely delicious. We ordered it four times after returning from the nightly shows, and it was perfect every time.
Entertainment was available all day and night. The resort featured live music at several venues, daily performances at the theater, and more intimate experiences throughout the property. Our favorite was the hidden speakeasy with outstanding service and a nightly DJ with a full light show. Even better, a food truck outside the venue served freshly made tacos until 4 am. It was a perfect way to end the night.
After a few relaxing days, we decided to explore some of the parks included with our stay. Transportation to and from the parks ran every 15 minutes from the front of the resort. There was also a coffee shop located right next to the shuttle area, making it easy to grab a drink or snack before heading out.

Entrance to the Xcaret Mexico Park
We visited three of the parks. The first was Xcaret Mexico, where we explored scenic paths, encountered wildlife, and swam through underground rivers lined with caves and jungle. Because we were Arte guests, lunch at this park was included. We loved it so much we returned the next day and celebrated my birthday by going parasailing. The guide made me feel completely at ease, and once we were in the air, the peacefulness and views from 300 feet up were unforgettable.
Next, we visited Xenses, a park designed to challenge your senses with fun optical illusions and playful experiences. It was a lighthearted and unique way to spend the day and gave us plenty of laughs.

In the caves at Xplor Fuego
Our final adventure was at Xplor Fuego. This nighttime park was action-packed with activities like ziplining through rings of fire, rafting through caves, jungle driving in 4x4s, and fast water slides. I was definitely nervous before starting some of the activities, but once we jumped in, I had the time of my life.
Everywhere we went, from the resort to the parks to the shuttles, the staff was incredibly kind and attentive. They consistently went above and beyond to create a welcoming and elevated experience. I celebrated my birthday during this trip, and they made me feel so acknowledged and truly celebrated. It added such a meaningful touch to the entire stay.

Enjoying the river at the resort
Overall, Hotel Xcaret Arte is an outstanding resort. From the high-quality food and thoughtful service to the variety of amenities and endless adventures, it truly felt like a five-star experience. Even after eight nights, we left knowing there was still more to see and do. This resort is perfect for couples, honeymooners, and small groups looking for a mix of luxury and exploration. If you love authentic cuisine, beautiful surroundings, and meaningful travel experiences, you will absolutely love this place.
Need to know
I highly recommend reaching out to your travel advisor before your trip to schedule your airport transfers, dinner reservations, and park visits. It is also a great idea to review all of the included parks and optional excursions ahead of time so you can prioritize the experiences that interest you most.
If you are celebrating something special like a birthday, anniversary, or honeymoon, be sure to let your advisor know so they can pass it along to the resort. Lastly, when it comes to the park, make sure you bring water shoes, towels, and sunscreen. Lockers are included in your reservation at each park so you don’t have to worry about where to store your belongings.
