Curator’s statement
This trip to The Bahamas was especially meaningful because it marked our girls’ very first spring break—a milestone we wanted to make unforgettable. It was their first time flying, exploring an island, splashing through a water park, and feeling sand between their toes. More than anything, we wanted to create lasting family memories filled with joy and new experiences. Doing it all on a budget made it even more rewarding, showing that special moments don’t have to come with a high price tag.

This trip to Paradise Island proved that a Bahamas getaway can absolutely be done in a smart, budget-conscious way—without sacrificing the experience.
By using airline points for flights and staying at Comfort Suites Paradise Island, we were able to unlock one of the best value hacks in the destination: complimentary access to Aquaventure at Atlantis Paradise Island. The convenience started right away with a quick 20-minute transfer from the airport, and having pre-arranged transportation made arrival seamless and stress-free.
The property
The property itself is a great fit for families, offering clean, comfortable rooms—many with connecting options that work especially well for larger families or groups traveling together who may need multiple rooms. One of the biggest budget wins is the included daily breakfast, which offers a wide variety of hot and cold options and helps offset the otherwise high cost of dining on the island.
While the hotel has its own small pool, the real highlight is how easily you can access Atlantis—just a short 4-minute walk from the back of the property, passing shops and the casino to reach the Royal Tower lobby, where all guests check in daily with their room keys and IDs to receive their Aquaventure wristbands.

Aquaventure
Gaining access to Aquaventure is straightforward, though it does require picking up wristbands each day (a small trade-off for the value). Once inside, you have full access to one of the Caribbean’s most impressive water parks, along with beaches, lounge chairs, and towels.
There’s truly something for everyone—from thrilling slides to relaxing beach time—and even rainy days are covered with indoor attractions like the aquarium, The Dig, and Predator Lagoon. Bringing refillable bottles and snacks is a smart move, especially for families spending long days exploring the resort.

Overall, this destination is ideal for families or groups seeking a blend of relaxation, adventure, and convenience—offering options for both budget-conscious travelers and those looking to indulge in a more upscale Atlantis experience.
Need to know
Travelers should be prepared for higher food and beverage costs throughout Paradise Island, as most restaurants automatically add 10% VAT and 15% gratuity to every bill. Packing snacks, reusable water bottles, and drink flavor packets can help keep costs down, especially for families spending full days at Aquaventure.
Comfortable walking shoes are also a must, as you’ll be going back and forth between Comfort Suites Paradise Island and Atlantis Paradise Island regularly.
Plan a little extra time each morning to pick up your daily wristbands, and be sure your entire party is present with IDs.
Lastly, if you’re traveling during spring break or peak seasons, expect crowds—but arriving early to the water park helps you secure the best lounge chairs and make the most of your day.
